Drinking for one

At the moment I've been thinking about a certain thing. This certain thing is the consumption of alcohol by yourself. When I look at my friends, most of them think that a night out at a nightclub is the best thing someone can do. I personally don't see the appeal so I usually drink by myself, probably more than I should. So my question is, do you, the people of The Escapists usually drink alone?

i'm a sociable drinker so most of the time i only drink when i have company though if there's a beer in the fridge and i have the house to myself, drinking it and playing an awesome game is the best

I ONLY drink with friends. Very rarely I might have a beer with my mother but that's about it. I don't see any reason to drink alcohol unless you're having a night out with some mates.

I only ever drink on my own if I've already been out with people drinking, and I'm going out again in about an hour.

I would never crack open loads of booze if I'm going to be sat at home playing games/watching a film all night.

I will consider having 1 or 2 though, but very rarely and normally only if I have a curry.

Sure, I'll kick back with a few beers watching the evening movie or when doing a spot of late-night gaming. Nothing wrong with it, in my opinion - it's a good way to unwind after a long day.

I tend to have at least a beer or two every day, normally while on thios site of otherwise mucking around on my laptop. Beer is just too damn tasty.

That pretty much explains it. I occasionally drink on my own but it doesn't really go further than a few beers after a hard shift. Sometimes a guy just needs to chill on his own after work.

Well the only experience I have with this kind of thing is when people think it's a great idea to get hammered then come onto the escapist and post.

Honestly, I see nothing more depressing then getting blitzed by yourself at a computer. To me the odd drink or two by yourself is fine for the taste, drinking 'til you're tipsy is something to do with mates for the laughs, getting wasted by yourself...kill yourself, because at that rate it's pretty much what you're already doing...alone.

That said, there's benefits and disadvantages to both clubbing, and lone-wolf-boozing. Depends on what you're AIMING for!

I don't drink period. Okay that's not entirely true, I may occasionally have a vodka and orange or one of those vodka fizzy drinks when I'm out to dinner. One and only one will be ordered. Beyond that I drink water and only water. I've never been drunk or even tipsy nor do I want to feel so. Even the smallest amount of alcohol fills my head with cotton wool and sends me straight to sleep so I can only imagine what a lot would do to me.
