Drunk Thread

Bushmills white label. Irish whiskey from near the northern coast of Ulster, It's a wonderfully intense whiskey with a slightly peaty, rich taste accompanying the usual flavour of whiskey and waiting upon a subtle... electric tang, like ozone or the taste you get near a Van De Graff generator.

It's also interesting with ice, the peaty taste is far more subdued but there is a very subtle almost antiseptic taste. It's from the iodine in seaweed that is used to fertilize the fields where the grains for it are grown.

Looks like we're the only ones drinking into the morning, Vallorn[footnote]Unless Baffle, Barbas, Arcadian, and Cowabungaa are still around?[/footnote]. Let's put aside our differences! *Clink glasses*

Currently drinking Brahma. I believed others would be joining me, but I was mistaken, and they've gone to bed (what with work in the morning), so it's all mine. I'm both sad and happy about that.

EDIT: Then again, perhaps come morning, I'll have work too. Two interviews in the past couple of days.

Not a Lager drinker myself but I hope you have a decent evening/night/morning of drinking!

Hopefully I do/don't get drunk enough to start coming up with mixed drinks. Last time I did that I ended up making Navy Rum, Maple Syrup, Soaked with a diced red chili then filtered through a sieve onto ice...

It was... Impressively hot from both the chili and the rum. Couldn't taste anything for days after that one.

I used to love a nice, cold amber cider. Delicious and relaxing!

Then I discovered I can't tolerate grains or high glycemic index fruits (or other stuff). Like apples, grapes, potatoes, wheat, rice ... you know, all the stuff they make hard drinks from. For a long time I thought I'd never able to drink again.

Then I discovered that if you look in a large enough liquor store, you can find these specialty fruit wines I never knew existed. Pomegranate wine, blackberry wine, blueberry wine, etc. I've tried several now, and can have them safely. Pomegranate and peach tasted awful; strawberry was kinda okay; raspberry and blackberry were delicious. I saw blueberry on the shelf, but haven't tried it yet. I have bottles of raspberry and blackberry wine in my fridge right now. Might have some later.

So I'm in a pissy mood (not happy) and getting pissed (getting drunk). Seems like an eternity since Dmase (I think that was their name, been a while since I've seen them around) made a drinking thread. Anyone out there drinking tonight? What are you drinking? If you're sober what's your favorite drink? Currently I'm drinking Marshmallow flavored vodka and cherry Pepsi. It's pretty awful and about all I had. I really wouldn't recommend it. One of my favorite drinks is Goldschlager and Jager called a starry Night, but I ain't got the money for that shit right now.

How'd you get the thread drunk?


I'm a fan of basic booze. My go to drink when going out is the bourbon and coke, but I've liked most brown spirits I've tried. Ciders are generally a safe bet too, although they seem to get me fucked up real quick if I'm not careful. Don't mind certain beers, Carlton Draught is my cheap choice, while I'll give others a shot if I'm not paying for them, but I've had some beers where I've gotten a couple of sips in and thought to myself this tastes like shit. So if I'm paying I tend to stick to the stuff I know I like, and bourbon and coke is definitely my #1 choice. Should be in for a reasonably big one Saturday night after the last round of cricket finishes.

As you've described it there, it sounds like something I'd really like!

I usually prefer other poisons to lager-- I'll generally drink Guinness, cider, or a few spirits like gin or rum, before thinking about lager.

Well, it is right in my profile. I'm probably a bit too open with personal details, to be honest. I'm 20, so I'm pretty much legal anywhere outside of the United States. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately), that is where I live.

Currently enjoying Captain Morgan spiced rum. Really tasty stuff.

Apart from that, I'm sort of into the sweet stuff in general these days. Jack Daniel's Tenessee Honey and Southern Comfort are some favourites.


I'd like to start drinking more 'mature' stuff, but it all just tastes so bloody bad to my current palate. I'll get back to plain old whiskey eventually.

I had a few radlers tonight at a restaurant with friends. They're not that great for cold nights like this though. They are, however, really refreshing on hot days. I like to keep a few in my backpack when I go hiking to break out when I stop.

Smoked beer is my favorite stuff. The darker the beer, the better. I don't like to be able to see any light piercing my glass when I hold it to the light.
