I do not understand this Sex is worse then violence.

Most kids are mostly likely going to grow up, see breast etc and might even have sex.

However most kids will not grow up to be killers and causing extreme violence.

It makes no sense. I do not understand it at all.

Its like telling a kid taking a AK-47 and gunning down a number of people is all good and dandy but looking at a girl's breast is a huge no-no.

BTW I am not defending the ad in anyway shape or form. What struck me was the comment:
"the sexual imagery and content in the strip club scenes were overly explicit for broadcast" prior to 11 pm.

Well, I didn't buy it and I still have both of 'em, so I think Duke can't follow up on a threat.

OT: I'm not very surprised - that was pretty explicit.

I was in a room when this ad came on, with a 7 yr old girl present, and her parents. Fortunately, it was muted, so didnt attract too much attention, but I sank in my chair anyway and cringed.

What do you they mean "vulnerable People"? that feels like that should be an insulting term, like midget.

eh, this is a really old add. it seems kinda odd to ban this now, especially with the game out and not living up to expectations.

Sexist? No, Women pole dance in real life.

Violent? Yes, but so is every other FPS.

Likely to harm children?.. Ha... really?.. what?..
Yes, the disc will leap from your console and slit your throat!

But no... Considering how juvenile the game is you'd think it would actually appeal to kids a lot more than it would harm them.

As for the case itself here i really don't get why this matters. The game itself seems to have been forgotten by most already, and they only pushed back the ad which seems appropriate considering it's 18+ rating. They do that with porn on movie channels too you know :p

Oh I agree it's somewhat inappropriate, and I can understand why they are making it late night showing only. But I just have a problem with that particular complaint I read. That person (presumably old women) is just making a big deal out of something she doesn't like because she doesn't appreciate vulgar humour. But like you said it doesn't matter anyway, the game has been released and already (nearly) forgotten about.

I thought Europe in general was ok with breasts. Meh, it was a shitty game, so I don't care either way.
Well... Mostly. But Scandinavia is the most accepting of nakedness. But UK is becoming more like America every year. So... Most Europe expect, UK and Germany are mostly OK with nudity. Dunno whats happening in there, maybe the "THINK OF THE CHILDREN" is starting to go too far over there.

I hate the marketing of duke nukem forever for one reason and one reason alone; it, coupled with my naive nostalgia for duke3d resulted in me actually purchasing the game.

People, it's official: boobs are more dangerous than guns.
All shooters from now on must include lactation as a weapon.
