"Who do I hang out with? The other professors... they're my 'homies'..."
- my university's German & Etymology professor

However, I find it more along the lines of awesome rather than stupid.
I hear enough stupid coming from the computer science building...

Someone asked me where "canadia" was on a map.
When asked what country someone would like to visit they answered "New Orleans".
I remember someone asking "What religion are muslims?" which was painful enough without immediatly after hearing "jewish."

I was talking to my friend at school about anti-matter, he said "So how do they make it? Do they mix gravity and water or something?"

On a Geography field trip, I overheard some students playing a game where they named as many countries as they could. One girl said "China. Oh wait, no, that's a continent".

This was a grade 12 class, mind you. Best of all, she was Chinese.

tl;dr "What's so bad about communism?" is a valid question
Only for morons like yourself. Get over the whole "all people who badmouth communism are brainwashed!" bullshit, communism is bad because it's so easy to abuse and usurp. It also completely and utterly destroys creativity and innovation; both are expressions of individuality whereas communism focuses on everyone being equal. Since a doctor is treated the same as a janitor, why should the doctor work harder? It's not going to make much of a difference. Oh sure you'll get the odd doctor whose actually in the field to help people (God bless them, another thing communism hates) but for the most part it's a means to gaining lots of money and therefore of survival. Whereas over in commie-land the only plusses are being able to pat yourself on the back and being able to apply your medical knowledge whenever you get hurt.

tl;dr Communist is bad because it's flawed and can't survive the human element.
Then it's bad. But if somebody doesn't know why, it's still acceptable for them to ask so that they can be educated as such.

tl;dr you missed the point, it's still a completely valid question.

A girl in my class asked where Canada was, shortly followed by asking if it was next to Indonesia. We live in Australia.

"This is the most important year of your life"
No, it isn't. These are the god damned SATS, not GCSE's. These mean fuck all to us, it will never be checked, it will never be taken into consideration in our future. These are important to YOU, the school. Don't feed us bullshit, or we'll be less likely to listen when it actually is important.

During Art class: "Can someone give me yellow-red?"

"You mean orange?"

"Yeah, that.."

Freshman highschool year was funny.
It's funnier because you have a facepalm as your avatar.....

Best for me was last year in art class when a girl (who isn't that bright) asked which way the letter 'e' went as she was writing her name on her work............

In 5th grade, my teacher was asking the class what numbers were greater than a million. I said a million and a half.

The teacher said I was wrong because one half isn't a whole number.

I guess I should give her credit. They didn't want us learning about fractions until 6th grade.

/sarcasm

By all accounts you should be right here.

Natural numbers - your wrong

Integers- your wrong

Rational - your right

Irrational - your right

Complex- your right

( I haven't included Algebraic here..although you would still be right)

each number set included those above (ie. rationals also contains all the naturals and integers)

so in 3 of 5 randomly chosen number sets your right. however at your level I doubt complex numbers would have been introduced yet...

in psychology "all we need to do is control peoples minds to make sure everyone treats everyone fairly to help to preserve our rights as people" someone said this in front of the class everyone just sorta stared at him for a few minutes
