IM playing through Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires right now and it made me start thinking.

I know alot of people were disappointed with DW6 so what would you like to see changed or improved in DW7 or Dw7 empires.

1. i wish they would combine the main DW ganes and Empires. I hate having to buy two different games.
2. they should bring back customizable bodyguards. I love having my own force that actually stays with me, it makes me seem like more of a leader on the battlefield
3. Make different strategies on the battlefield actually matter. It would add a lot of depth to the game if strategy actually meant something.

So what do you think about DW7

More of a story driven campaign would be nice but what I'd really want is decent AI. The least they could do is all atack at the same time.

Return of all characters, and some new ones.
No point combinging Empires and regular though. They are different games. (Some say expansion, but its not, not really)
Unique weapons styles for everyone. I dont mind limited Musou modes though, you can remake your own usually for the others.

For an empires, I want it like DW5E and SW2E was, but keep officer mode. Thats an amazing idea but all the downgrades DW6E had (limited force, no death, etc) really ruined it for me.

For new characters, I want it to expand more into the time line. The games usually end around Wu Zhang, but the actual Three Kingdoms period goes waaaay after. (Liu Chan and Cao Rui should be unique for this)

Keep Sun Ce/Zhang He's voice actor. Ok, keep most I know, but after hearing him so much in Dragon Age, Id hate to not having him in DW.

1. Customizable bodyguards were great.
2. Go back to being at least a little historically accurate and believable.
3. More combos.
4. More alternate costumes.

uhm... how about a decent menu system? Also, I think a different setting, or at least something new, Dynasty warriors: Egypt, or something like that... something more fresh than Dynasty Warriors: Romance of the three kingdoms characters fighting!

its not that I have anything against their current ways(except those damned menus!) but it seems dynasty warriors needs to do something fresh, oh, and this is an epic war game, why are there still only 12 enemies attacking(kinda) me at once! and fog of war!... I guess what I'm saying is that the dynasty warriors games feel like they were slapped together...

It is...and did you play the PS2 version of DW6 or the PS3(dunno if its on 360) version, because from what I've heard, the PS3 version changed a lot of stuff up a bit, changing peoples weapons and making them more samey, while the PS2 version kept things a lot closer to its roots, keeping character's weapons, and not as ..different..I enjoyed 6..my only problem was..they didnt tone down the PS2 version enough so it lags/chugs like crazy in co-op, which is one of the main reasons i get the warriors games...

but what I think would be nice, is to add a lot more customization like in the Dynasty Warriors:Gundam series...add some armor customization and different skills, added onto the already good weapon system

as I understand it, its pretty similar but different, I havent really played any of them after those but it kinda seems like the series is starting to get more based on just the player with a few guys vs an army instead of an army on both sides, I think the latest game is kinda like that, but as I said, I havent really played any since 3 so Im not sure... hmm, well one is 10 bucks at gamestop, suppose I could pick it up

Agree with all your points.

I found DW4 to be the best probably. After that its been downhill, I feel like I'm buying the same game again and again.

Its on the 360. The PS2 version gave Yue Ying, Ma Chao, Ling Tong, Taishi Ci, Cao Pi and Zhang He unique weapons (Zhang He and Taishi Ci getting their old back) and musou modes for each. No swimming or ladders though. Dunno if they removed the renbu system too or not.

Zhou Tai needs his katana back first and foremost.
agreed
I remember in 4 I got his max level katana (forgot the name), no goons stood a chance afterwards.
If only I still had that game. I forget what happened to it.

There were ladders in the PS2 version, and was the renbu system the whole skill point lvl up system or was it something else...I will give DW6 one big thumbs up though for having the best Lu Bu to date, giving him his own campaign, fancy new design, and amazing cutscenes.

Go with the crazy even more. Less realism and more absurd shit going down. Give people their silly weapons once more (Zhang he, Zhou Tai, etc) and make it more chaotic.
