It's a team objective based FPS Half-Life 2 mod and it is gorgeous. http://www.dystopia-game.com
Admittedly there is a learning curve to this game. It tends to get a lot of Counter-Strike players who ask how to buy weapons. But once you get the swing of it, it's one of the best games I've played. It is an exclusively multiplayer game and there seem to be no plans to change that in the near future.
The long and the short of it is you have the Corps (hired rent-a-cops basically) and the Punks (organized anarchists I guess) and they don't like each other. On most maps you have the Punks attacking an instalation guarded by the Corps but there are some reverse maps.
There are three player types; the light, the medium, and the heavy. Each has access to a unique selection of weapons plus various implants that are used during the match. It has a very updated Sega Genesis Shadowrun feel without the magic (and I don't count the Microsoft remake), right down to the use of a physical model for hacking and dueling in cyberspace.
It's a free mod, and that's impressive given the work that's gone into it. Availbe through the Steam Store (again, for free), though it does require HL2 to play. There's even the Dystopia Global League for professional (and somewhat unprofessional) official matches.
Personally I'd like to see Yahtzee review this game mod but given it's somewhat indie nature, the fact it's exclusively online multi-shooter and the fact it's not a stand-alone game I'm not hopeful to see it up on Zero Punctuation.
Anyway when I'm not MMOing I'm either playing mahjong or this. Check it out, but by all means PLEASE read the new player guide before diving in (the tutorial map doesn't really teach anything other than how to move and jump and use the use key) because while the community is higher brow than your typical X Box Live night in Halo, you're not gonna get a whole team waiting for you to figure out how to break green ice in cyberspace.
