Nope, not trolling, just uninformed and misunderstood this thread. I'm now a little excited by this. The difference between PS2 and GC was pretty substantial. Sounds like they just shot themselves in the foot a little by underselling what we might expect from this system by showing PS3 footage.
Sorry for assuming tolling Gorfias, E3 with new hardware I just prefer to accuse and apologise later due to the crazy that's going on....
It seems that devs have had the alpha devkits for about 6-8 weeks pre-E3 with some not getting them at all which would explain the lack of footage/games being shown.
One major exception to this is that Vigil ported Darksiders 2 over in 5 weeks and without any optimisation (ie. just getting the code to run on the hardware at all) it's already at PS/360 level. By the time it comes out it will probably be rendered at a natural 1080p60fps with some AA instead of 720p30fps with none that the other consoles will get. Assets won't be different so textures will look the same but the overall game will look cleaner and smoother.
Nintendo told them that they couldn't show finished games on the show floor though which i'll say was lolworthy though since the only Wii-u game we got to see was GR:O which is a downloadable title that's online only and rumours say will only be $10 so we can't expect that to be a showcase for the system.
As far as development it'll go with the Wii-u becoming lead platform with downports to PS3/360 till the other two release their offerings where unless they release in mid-late 2015 the jump in capabilities won't be significant enough for the Wii-u to not get all the multiplats despite the PS2-GC type gap that'll exist.
