I'll stick with Twilight Princess. For the graphics were a masterpiece as far as Zelda went...this one just look like they began to make another part of the Wind Waker series and got lazy and decided to incorperate the next Legend of Zelda into it and they got that. Bleh. Not interested in the slightest.

I would like to point out that this game details the creation of the master sword. meaning that it at least takes place before oot. which means that ganondorf does not exist yet. meaning that this game cannot possibly be hijacked by ganon. of course if they want to Nintendo will probably do it anyways........

he'll probably do something stupid like accidentally travel back in time after being sealed away in oot. but the because it's a Zelda game nobody will think it's stupid.

actually that sounds kind of epic. It kind of makes me wonder how such a thing would affect the time line. if used properly it could fix it. if used improperly they can write off all the plot holes as time paradoxes. awesome.

why does this game look like absolute arse?

Twilight princess looks better, wind waker looks better, Hell Majora's mask looks better.

If I remember right there's no Master Sword in this, well actually the Skyward Sword is the Master Sword before it's called that, so presumably this is the earliest game in the timeline.

Actually, no, not at all. Skyward Sword has already been announced to be the first chronological game in the series, as it's story regards the initial creation of the Master Sword.

I think its what happens when TP gets attacked by WW. Or vice versa... Either way, I've always liked the cartoony-ness of Zelda games. I just liked how TP looked like a big boy game.

One look at the graphics and I can tell it will be nothing like Majora's mask.

I had hoped that Twilight princess was a sign that they were starting to recognize the sheer brilliance they achieved in MMs, but it seems like they reverted back to the standard non- emotionally deep formula.
^ this.

OT. I bet this is after the sea in the windwaker eroded away all the landmass and then evaporated into clouds, after which it turns out that all the islands had large helium/hydrogen pockets in ther bedrock. Also: flying & skyidiving: awesome
Actually, last I heard it was a prequel to EVERY Zelda game, that would feature the tale of the forging of the master sword.

It happened with Vaati, it happened with Aghanim, and it happened with Zant - like it won't happen here?
But this is being billed as a prequel to Ocarina of time, and that was Ganon's first appearance as a villain. The king even trusted him before he took shit over. Him showing up in this would make no sense at all. However, they could have another gerudo king, since in Ocarina they hinted there were more before him, so who knows.

/zeldanerdom.

Ot: Anyways, more new Zelda! SQUEE!
Who knows, maybe the demon Ganon predates the gerudo Ganandorf. Maybe we'll get his origin story too. You never know.

Anyway, I've thus far learned to trust console Zelda games as infallible, provided they're not made by Philips cdi(I've yet to see evidence to think otherwise. (Also "infallible" may be hyperbole.(maybe.))), so I'm super stoked for this.

Granted, Majora's Mask was one of the more interesting takes on the Zelda franchise, but I don't think one would generally need a dark aestethic to get an interesting story along. For example, Cave Story had a very cheerfull design, but on closer examination, it was pretty grim.

EDIT #2: Another example: Link's Awakening.
I haven't played it myself (yet), but from what I understand, Link is required to purposefully cause a Dream Apocalypse to waken from the Wind Fish's dream, and as a result kill all the people inhabiting the dream. The antagonists are aware of this situation and actively try to prevent Link from waking the Wind Fish, so they don't die/their world won't be destroyed.
Was that a Mighty Max reference? XD

OT: Did any one else think the blonde girl didn't look at all like Zelda? I mean yeah she's blonde but her face just looks... I don't know different, like the proportions are a bit off or something.

The trailer made me think "Oh, this is like the beginning of Twilight Princess... but in the sky." And the part where the people just off cliffs only to land on birds JUST as they were about to fall off to their deaths, that just seemed SO cliche.

I am DYING to know who that guy is when Link puts on his tunic, as well as that guy at the end.

Am I the only person who didn't like Majora's Mask?

I'll admit I'm a little hesitant with this style, but then I felt the same about Windwaker and ended up loving it (except the sailing). I just hope that the story/narrative strikes me the same way that Twilight Princess did.
This seems like "hey, your girlfriend is in trouble, go get her" cliche (I know that is how most of these games start) hard to tell from the trailer what substance they've added.

Now who do I know that owns a Wii which I could hijack for a weekend...?

Which can only be a good thing, because Majora's Mask was one of the worst Zelda titles they ever put out.

No, not quite.

The antagonists are evil beings that invaded the Wind Fish's dream and turned it into a nightmare so that they can control the world, and Link needs to stop them to save both himself and the Wind Fish from being trapped in the nightmare forever.

maan their going with right handed link again.. don't really care much for the swordplay with the wiimote since it will probably be shit. Will buy the game though hoping it will be good, but it seems their putting a lot of efforts into areas that do not matter. Don't care to much for the looks of this game eighter, but that's not really a big selling point for the zelda games anyways. It's the same with the ds games, it's really anoying having to use the stylus when that could easily been avoided, the minish cap was a great game and that game had none of that stylus bulshit. hope they atleast focus some on secrets in this game, like for instance the quest line to get the best sword in ocarina of time.

Majoras mask was pretty awesome, liked it more than ocarina of time, but they were both great games. did not care much for twilight princes, they seem to just put in a lot of bullshit.

i don't know i think its more of a cartoonish style with better graphics then a 'blend', so i'm thinking this is going in the wind waker timeline.

Wow, that point where they jumped off and onto the birds was strongly reminiscent of Avatar.

Still, if it's free-roaming like Epona, but in the air, I'm all for it!

I love that it's set up in an entirely new area. It gives me hope for a larger and deeper world. I don't really care if Ganon comes back or not. Zelda, now - GOD I hope she can keep her trouble-causing nose out of it.

Now, a Squaresoft-style Zelda game... THAT I will sell most of my liver for. :D This cell shaded blah blah is okay, but getting pretty old.

Hmm. I've just realised that what I personally believe to be the origin of Link and the Sword, probably isn't actually true.

Bugger.

...Actually that pretty boy villain looked like Vaati to me... As for hijacked by Ganon, who knows? Vaati got to be a villain by his lonesome in Minish Cap.
