I don't have a problem with this ad; it's no different from, say, the dig at Duracell that the Energizer Bunny was intended to be (look it up; it's a fascinating bit of history.) When you're in a highly competitive market, there's nothing wrong with acknowledging your top competitor; sometimes saying "we're really good" doesn't, in and of itself, get out the message that "we're better than the other guys."
Then again, I thought the "Your mom will hate this game" ad was a brilliant and hilarious piece of marketing aimed at adults who were children during the videogame violence hysteria in the 90's, and gamers (yes, including the Extra Credits guys) showed their insecurity and immaturity by making a big deal out of it, so what do I know?
