Were they expecting to go out of business this year without him? How could it be worse? Keeping him is a typical EA decision, the wrong one.Andy Chalk said:"The board has a very high level of confidence in John and the management team," Probst said. "They have done a really good job of exceeding the operating plans in the last few years."
Nobody who was paying attention?itsthesheppy said:Who would have guessed that being voted the worst company in America would be bad for your stock prices?
It doesn't sound nice, but as far as I know Andy Chalk is a pretty solid dude and probably relies on his job for sustenance. We're not talking about somebody's grandmother trying to keep themselves out of the poorhouse. Nothing wrong with cheering the firing of some fat cat if you think he is bad for his company, the industry or gamers. His golden parachute will probably be more than I'll make in my lifetime. I think I can live with the guilt.Clearing the Eye said:What a disgusting attitude. "Andy Chalk Still Isn't Fired" - doesn't sound nice, huh?
LOL. Damn that small but vocal minority of complainers. Has there ever been a problem or complaint that couldn't be backtraced directly to the small but vocal minority of complainers? I'd like to tell them to shut up, I wonder if they have an office somewhere.idarkphoenixi said:Who else expects EA to release a statement saying that the cause of their gargantuan stock crash was due to a "small but vocal minority" of complainers and that EA is running perfectly fine?

Come on, this was not the kind of poll investors would give a shit about.
Consumer confidence and satisfaction is part of a company's value. It's not everything, but it matters, and "Worst Company in America" is pretty extreme. The Random One said:Of course it is not Riticello's fault EA's stock prices are dropping. Everyone knows stock values are not related to a company's actual performance in any way, shape or form and at best are related to an imaginary version of the company existing in a Socratian/Jungian realm of pure thought. My business advice to Riticello is to attempt to become a being of pure thought and take it from there.
Also, all the people saying DUR DUR OF COURSE THE STOCKS ARE DROPPING WHO WANTS TO BUY EVIL EA are hilarious. You know the image of the greedy video game exec that only wants to make money and doesn't give a shit whether the games are actually good? Investors are ike that. I mean literally. They don't care what the company is doing as long as it makes them money and if they think it won't they'll sell it and buy Chick-a-fil-a instead in a heartbeat. Saying that investors don't want to buy EA because of its business practices is like saying Hitler never listened to his generals because no one trusts Nazis.
No one that matters would give two shits about some internet hipsters spamming a poll. News flash: there's companies in the U.S. that get paid to invent weapons of war; chemicals to maim, to poke through tax loopholes for the rich and to go over legal document with a magnifying glass, looking for anyone minute error that could get their murdering client off.Rooster Cogburn said:Consumer confidence and satisfaction is part of a company's value. It may matter, but one internet poll will not significantly influence stock prices, especially from a company most consumers won't follow anyway. Meanwhile, consumers are still buying EA products like they're crack.Rooster Cogburn said:Consumer confidence and satisfaction is part of a company's value. Look, I don't like EA, but most people don't even know what the Consumerist is, let alone care what the worst company in America is according to their user-submitted tourney poll. In fact, I think the only reason the Escapist cares is that it confirms what they already believe. I doubt many people here had even heard of it before. Especially since this site's userbase is so extremely anti-consumer rights they would have berated them non-stop--up until they heard something they liked.
This is peanuts. It is trivial.
And being labeled the worst ANYTHING isn't that extreme on the internet.
OK, but check this out: lolClearing the Eye said:No one that matters would give two shits about some internet hipsters spamming a poll.Rooster Cogburn said:Consumer confidence and satisfaction is part of a company's value. That has nothing to do with anything. And the award isn't 'Evilist' it's 'Worst' from the perspective of consumers. Maybe EA isn't as bad as WMD manufacturers, consider that a victory if it will help you sleep.News flash: there's companies in the U.S. that get paid to invent weapons of war; chemicals to maim, to poke through tax loopholes for the rich and to go over legal document with a magnifying glass, looking for anyone minute error that could get their murdering client off.
No one with more brains than mouth would consider EA the worst company in the U.S. and this "hur dur, EA so evil lolol" attitude is a sign of the reverse.
I guess this is where I say U MAD or call you butthurt or something. Don't take it so hard, and don't say "Newsflash" if you can't handle hollow condescension and grade school levels of flaccid quip. WHY?Electronic Arts continues to have a "very high level of confidence" in its management team.
Stopped there. Really, guys, why must you torture us with Pachter on half OUR news?. GameTrailers I can understand, they make money out of the hits his fanboys make when they visit his Real Douchebags of the Gaming Industry section there. But you?. There's no way to understand how a supposedly serious and competent medium like The Escapist can keep quoting Pachter and not die of pure shame.Earlier this month, analyst Michael Pachter...

It hasn't drastically affected any other winner of the "WORST COMAPNY EVARRRR!" poll from the same site in prior years. Well, if I missed one in my googling, I apologise.Maybe that doesn't matter. I would be quicker to dismiss it if this was a company that is a sure investment at the moment,
They don't.and if small or insignificant setbacks did not have dire consequences so frequently.
Research, precedent.I mean how can yall be so sure?
I'm talking real world examples, and yetIt's like you live in some alternate universe where the stock market makes sense.
the one in the alternate universe?
Histrionics put EA over WMD manufacturers. Do you really consider an internet tantrum a victory? That has nothing to do with anything.
