Come on guys, give Mirror's Edge a break. You complain that the gaming industry is stagnant, and when someone tries to break the mold, at least recognise that and give them a break.

I'm glad of what EA is doing. And besides, better EA than Activision.
They aren't saying Mirror's Edge is bad at all. In fact they loved it. They know people loved it. It just lacked a few things and maybe some polish to make it really marketable. I agree with them too.

I love the game, but I feel like I want more of it, and some multiplayer.

Maybe to you it does but not to me
Apologies. Next time I will confer with you before stating my own observations. Just to make sure they don't conflict.

Honestly for me the only real fails I found in mirrors edge was the single path to success in any given situation and more so the counter immersive slowness of movement. Parkour is all about using adaptability to adjust to any given circumstance that is presented to you, So the notion of having a host of workable ways the accomplish what your trying to do (sort of the Deus Ex approach) is the only logical thing to do.

Parkour is also based in speed and agility and really the movement speed always felt like you were walking instead of running. I know it was sort of a "first of its kind" effort which leads developers to want to make it overtly easy to ensure people get it, but I think if they would have ramped up the running speed and had a better training period it would have worked out alot better.

Honestly It was a great game for a first effort. I am actually looking forward to a new incarnation with increased difficulty of having a variety of options on how to solve the puzzles and not have everything so brightly color coded to beat you over the head with "you need to go here then do this" type of gameplay.

Since a game based on just such a principle exists, perhaps you could try it before pulling "observations" out of your ass.

To everyone else:

Mirror's Edge suffered from a single glaring flaw: The combat.

Since I did, maybe you should have asked if I did before assuming it was an asspull.

Just saying, it's kind of hypocritical of you to make accusations of assumptions based on your own assumptions, no?

Mirror's Edge was fine - any longer and the idea of free running would just get dragged out and get boring. You can only have a long game if you can keep throwing new ideas into the story/gameplay

And I can assure you EA multiplayer will NOT help a mirror's edge game

Not since your grammatical constructs in both earlier posts were based on having not actually played a game based on that premise.

GET OVER YOUR STUPID OBSESSION WITH MULTIPLAYER!!!

We don't need it in every single game!

Better to have no multiplayer if it's going to detract from the singleplayer or is just going to be tacked on.
Pretty much this.

And for all you gamers complaining about no multiplayer in games that obviously don't need it (i.e. 80% of the games out there,) I'd suggest you just invite some friends over to your house. Easily 2x the fun while not requiring anything more from the game.

Aw, I enjoyed Mirror's Edge. Wasn't the time trial thing the multiplayer? Kind of like Super Meat Boy or Trials HD?

I can remember getting stuck a couple of times which was frustrating but overall I found it to be innovative and enjoyable.

LOL. That's funny. one of my earlier posts didn't even address it, the one you replied to. The other said nothing untrue, having played ME, it still strikes me as a bad idea, and nothing about "strikes me as a bad idea" actually dictates having not played it. You assumed, then blasted me for assuming. That, my friend, is hypocrisy.
