An army might have refused to hire female soldiers(that they knew were female anyway). But to pretend women never fought in WW2 is crazy, some factions did use women soldiers and theres also the fact that not everybody fighting in WW2 was in the army, during war random people can just show up with guns and start attacking your enemy, be they part of a political group militia or resistance fighters.

Go look at the Ukraine and its random pockets of nationalist groups unaffiliated with their military fighting to this day.

the French resistance had several woman figthing with them. Russia had like 800k women in the army, in almost every corps, and more than a few actually fought on the field, or in the air force

Good lord, that was 19 years ago! They've killed 13 or 14 studios since then. Yeah, good on EA for waving off this nonsense. The charge that women in WWII combat are not realistic fails both on the counts of being false and of having little bearing on what should go into a battlefield game since battlefield can and should prioritise other factors over realism.

Good, glad to see a company sticking by their guns to make the game they want to make, you know that thing Gamergate pretended to care about when it was softcore titty porn in an action game and literally no other time?

Frankly I just really wish every single game franchise at E3 would reveal the next game had a female lead or it was rebooted with a female lead or it suddenly includes a diverse cast, like not a single grizzled gunbro in sight.
