It would be great if any time someone tried to prove something with blatant lies, a big red disclaimer would flash up telling the truth.

...though I guess exceptions would have to be made for hyperbole...

Nope. Not gonna follow that link. I will NOT follow that link. I know where it's going, and I don't wanna hear it. I'm having a good day today, and I'm not going to ruin it by reminding me about that......GAH. Nope, I'm fine. Mass Effect is a great game and everyone (EVERYONE) knows it.

Anywhoo, is that a robot dinosaur in the picture? Holy shit, that is awesome.

Yes, but they're an international joke, that half the country (United States) believes is true

FOX being morons? I'm surprised. /sarcasm

It's nice to see EA not just sitting in their chairs and responding to allegations, although I probably expect that the PWN level was turned down for the press release during editing to avoiding name-calling.

The only people who watch Fox News are geriatric rascal jockeys who are going to be dead in a few years. It's wildly popular with rotten old fogeys who grew up during segregation and cant stand the thought of a black man in the white house.

You know what, EA? Taking the high ground here against FOX of all people has finally convinced me. I'll forgive you for those "Dark Years" of yours. You've been good for about a year now, what with the idea that instead of DRM, you would use DLC that customers who supported you by buying new got free. You've been publishing a lot of good games, all while you helped put down Langdell. Hell, even though you knew this would be controversial (and doing so after already pushing your luck with Visceral so far), you've been committed to Bulletstorm the whole way, a great step forward for the industry (referring to the idea of sticking by a game in the face of controversy, not Bulletstorm). You've decided to look at the indie market, and decided to keep funding better stuff despite losing money.

Now, you still have problems with your sports games (but at this point I'm really not expecting anything to happen), but overall, I think you've earned that forgiveness.

Seriously Americans need to shut down FOX news, i know we believe in freedom of speech but FOX news is basically making Americans into paranoid, republican loving, change fearing idiots who will do anything they are told by a bullshit propaganda channel. Seriously i want to know where FOX even gets its information.
They're trying. And Conservatives are saying its the "liberal media triyng to impose its socialist laws and quiet the voice of America, destryoing this great nation and its mission of democracy so we can make a Muslim world where Bin Laden is our supreme leader and Obama his lap dog" or something like that.

Seriously, I heard somewhere they the FCC wanted to shut fox down, but I dont know if that stopped her not. It was really recent, cause I heard it during the Christmas break, which started on Dec. 18th.
Did you mean this?

My Dad is a fan of Fox news and Glenn Beck, makes me fucking sick and kind of scared, since he's an intelligent person.

Anyway, good for EA, they stayed professional and used examples.
This, although they should have mentioned that rape is actually decreasing and is certainly not caused by videogames
Well, first off, "rape is decreasing" is not really something they can say, sure they can say it has "decreased in the last two years" but Fox will always come back with something like "they are on an upward trend" referring to something like a rise in rape in the last MONTH or something (if you are willing to take a small enough interval, you can find an upward trend in almost ANYTHING) so that's not really a fight they could win.

Also, they can't really say videogames don't make people racists, I mean, of course anyone with a brain knows they don't, but again that's not something that can be PROVEN since motivation psychology is not an exact science.

They stuck with facts and didn't get into a pissing match, I respect that.

Haha, good old Fox news. I find it relevant to note here that all news networks are complete bullshit. Fox vomits hard right wing propaganda, the others vomit hard left propaganda. Stuff like this is going to keep happening no matter what. As someone said before, this is what the ESRB ratings are for.

EDIT:

I should point out here as well that you literally need to get rid of all of them. It's not just Fox that spits out propaganda, they all do it. Silencing them will only martyr them. And it's not any news channel that turns people paranoid, the people do it themselves. Leftist news lies to you and tells you how great the world is and it could be even better if the central government had more control. The right tells you a different lie, but comes to the same conclusion. Leftists want to spend money on harmful and debilitating social programs and trying to control the economy. The right lies and says they want to get rid of an oversized government but then turns around and spends more and more on pointless war.

The real problem is that there are sheep on both sides. People stupidly affiliate themselves with a party, and enforce the horrible doctrine of bipartisan government. And Democracy in general is a sham on the scale we have it in. It's simply 51% telling the other 49% how to live. It really only works on a state level, not a national level. Central government is the enemy of all men, no matter who you are.

Personally, I wish EA had addressed how Fox News falsely reported that incidents of rape are on the rise (FBI statistics show the opposite, actually), or how this isn't the first time the group has <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/80900-EA-Responds-to-Mass-Effect-Report-on-Fox-News>blatantly misrepresented sexual content in videogames.
I'd prefer all guns blazing before nailing their collective genitals to a wall, but yeah, that'll do. :)

My uncle is like that. He honestly believes that Glenn Beck is the most intelligent man in the US and everything he says should be treated like the gospel.
Well, my dad takes the "I know he's crazy, but his ideas are still good" approach, but that's still enough to scare the shit out of me.

Like I said earlier, these are the trends as they stand:

United States Reported Rape cases in -
2003: 93,883
2004: 95,089
2005: 94,347
2006: 92,757
2007: 90,427
2008: 89,000

Source: United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime.
Even at it's worst, it's .3% of the population - and Modern Warfare alone accounts for that.

Reposting RPS's article [http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/02/09/churnalism-fox-news-selective-quoting/], which demonstrates quite how unrepresentative Fox News can be with their sources. Well worth a read.

While EA stayed amazingly calm relative to the people who usually answer Fox News claims, why oh why did they have to violate Rule 14? [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RulesOfTheInternet]
