Actually he does have some legal way of continuing. I can't remember exactly what it was...something about funding re-releases of their old games. It was flimsy as hell but it kept them afloat. Now it looks like EA might have found some way to break the loophole and hopefully they do.Unrulyhandbag said:Why the hell has it take this long, the guy has no legitimate defence against these claims. Guess that won't stop his lawyers bullsh*tting in court though.
By his logic, starting a company called The would be one of the most profitable moves ever.Starke said:Basically. And how the hell does he think he owns the word edge? Because it's the name of his company?
Strictly speaking, you cannot copyright "The", now, he did get the copyright, original on "Edge Games", which on its face is fairly legitimate, and then used it to become a copyright bully. He filed suits against the Anthony Hopkins film about fifteen years ago, against the above mentioned Edge Magazine, and so on, claiming that all of them were infringing on his copyrights.Ironic Pirate said:By his logic, starting a company called The would be one of the most profitable moves ever.Starke said:Basically.
