Kick the MOTHERF@%#ER'S ass and I'll forgive what you've done to Command & Conquer.

I've been monitoring the Tim Langdell situation for a while now and scincerly hope he gets the legal *****-slap he has been deserving of for nearly a decade now. The man hasn't actually been involved in making, publishing, distributing or backing a single solitary game since the early 1990s yet someone has the balls to call himself the head of a game development studio known as "Edge games".

Langdell has proceeded to sue everyone in sight over the use of the term 'edge' whist deliberatly attempting to casue confusion between his own (imaginary) products and legit games like Mirrors edge. Between his samefull trademark squatting and lawsuit trolling Langdell finds the time to send imflamitory e-mails to indie developers and generally make a massive swinging dick of himself.

Here is an artilce over ar Eurogamer that pretty much sums up Langdell and his activities. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/the-edge-of-reason

For some unexplainable reason up until 2009 this man was actully a memeber of International Game Developers Association despite his sole source of income at the time seemingly being trolling and harassing other people who were actually doing creative work. The way i like to think of Langdell is like a cross between Bobby.k, a homeless man, a Mob Lawyer and a gaint back full of dicks.
Holy SHIT! I just read that article, I'm literally angry right now, not even just at what he did, it pissed me off so much I just feel pissed off.

I have found myself in a position where I want EA to succeed. Something must be wrong in the world.

And this guy is one hell of a prick. Also while I'm glad that there will be a second Mirrors Edge. I wish ( and bet EA does too) that the game had a real announcement. And wasnt announced just becasue it was being sued.

Welcome to the RAGE club, im sorry to have to share the utter injustice and fail with you but Langdells buisness since 1990 has actually mainly revolved arround litigating for profit. It's one of the most hateful things you can ever do and a syptom of the ease of abuse of the US and increasingly Uk legal system. His effect on the industry has been tantamount to standing in your way for no reason and then demanding payment to move out of your way. He has no leg to stand on in terms on geneal human decency or creative value.
They MAINLY stand on litigation? Looks to me like TOTALLY, not mainly.

The guys is literally a fucking leech.

EA versus Tim Langdell? The first fight in a long time where I hate both parties, and it's not to the death. Damn it.

And how the hell does he think he owns the word edge? Because it's the name of his company?
This actually makes me hate EA a little less! it is like a baddie boss fight

Sounds as if he just opened the dictionary and trademarked the first word he saw.

I hope he gets what's coming to him, though I can't help but feel a little bit dirty for siding with EA.

When they see they haven't actually done any other work they will see the light and let Tim be the first to try out Bethesda's real-life working Fisto.

Well, EA has scored a legal counterpunch. Let's hope they can transition this into a 5-hit combo of legal victory, and maybe even a 12-hit Super Finish of patent invalidation.

Also, EDGE

Andy Chalk said:
"Through a series of fraudulent misrepresentations to the United States Patent and Trademark Office ('USPTO'), Langdell - a one-time designer of video games for such long-since obsolete video game systems as the Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, Commodore 64, Oric, and Sinclair ZX Spectrum - has obtained federal registrations for a purported 'family' of Edge marks," the suit says. "Neither Langdell nor his alter ego companies have made any legitimate and good faith use of those marks in commerce, but they have instead used the marks to assert baseless claims against third parties and to extract undeserved settlements, consisting of invalid naked licenses and assignments in gross which Langdell has used to maintain his fraudulently obtained registrations."

"To the extent Counterdefendants ever held a valid registration, they abandoned the mark... due to non-use of the mark with the intent not to resume use, through an assignment in gross of the application and underlying trademark, and otherwise through a course of conduct that has caused the mark to lose all significance as a mark and/or as an indicator of source," it continues.
*Lawyer speek for "Tim Langdell's a trademark troll".

Wait, so you mean that move in Pokémon doesn't have anything to do with the Edge game called Stone? WTF?!?!?!?

Seriously though I hope EA crushes this guy into oblivion. Fuck him and his douchebaggery.
