I'm not sure whether its a good thing or a bad thing to deploy Black Phantoms.

On one hand yes it works to deter theirves who get the game early but those that get it delivered a day early through the postal system don't.

At the same time I think it may be a good thing to get your game into the hands of some people a day early... word of mouth can get more buyers in.

This may be the coolest idea I've ever heard.

Imagine it from the pirates perspective
"Woohoo. Playing the game early. This is cool.
Wait...what is that?
JESUS H CHRIST! HOW POWERFUL IS THAT DAMN THING. RUN AWAY"

Pirates get killed and scared to play the game again.

I think they should implement something like this to the game. 1 in 1000 plays o the game one of these mothers will spawn not far from you. Add an element of terror that no-one can be prepared for. I've heard the first game was brutal so this would fit well I'd say.

I never played Demon's Souls online because my internet at home sucks so badly, I guess I'll be doing the same for Demon's Souls
Noticed that no one had told you, so I thought I'd fill you in;
You can play Demon's Souls(and probably Dark Souls as well) in offline mode. If you sign out of PSN and choose cancel when they want you to log in it starts up in offline mode. I started playing like that after my game was invaded. I had no clue to what the hell was going on.
So if you are intrested in the games, don't let your bad internet hold you back. The only difference between online and offline mode is that online there's unhelpful messages scattered all over and you can see how other people died, which can help sometimes.

Sorry for the late bumping, but I figured it's was worth telling.

I know that, I've completed Demon's Souls like five times. What I meant to say is that I've only ever played it in offline mode.

...However, I did not know this. I guess it makes sense; log off and problem solved. I just don't like the idea of people invading my world when I don't want them to invade my world. And I also don't like being logged off while playing (Friends and stuff). But I guess it's a choice.

also (for dark souls) if you want online for co-op but not invasions the way of the white covenant will help you out. inversely if you want to pvp your brains out the blades of the darkmoon covenant is the one for you as you will be allowed to hunt down sinners outside the standard lvl restrictions(usually you must be within 10 lvls of them to invade) in anor londo one of the games agreed upon PvP zones(if they've killed the princess, which they usually do).
then theres the path of the dragon covenant for those who want random invasions and the ability to breath fire.
