EA's free game, which will it be?

I am not sure I agree with the people arguing we'll get something as new and successful as BF3 or even MoH: War/Doorfighter, I could be wrong though.

To be honest, right here, right now, I don't want anything to do with EA, and I don't want any of their games - not even for free.

Yeah, I still play Battleforge, where I go for a month or so without wanting to even look at the icon, so I hide it away, so I have to go look for it before I can start it. When I do, my 'level' has decayed to something noobish. It usually only takes one or two games to gain my 10,000 ELO or whatever, and I really don't feel like doing it most of the time. It's good for confrontational therapy, though.

Hmm, what about Red Alert 3? It's pretty cheap now and not many people liked it (so I've heard, I never got to properly play it). If it were me? C&C Generals with Zero Hour. My faith in EA may restore a little if they did that for me.
Y'know...if I had SimCity or Origin.

Sadly I don't think it will be something as great as Dead Space or Dragon Age. There is definitely a very different demographic of users when you compare a survival horror or a heavy RPG to a light simulation/strategy game that Sim City is.

I don't know exactly what game, but my guess is that it'll be a "safe" or casual game that appeals to a wide majority of gamers.

I can't honestly say that EA are a great company, but I can honestly say that Ubisoft Support is quite emphatically and significantly worse than EA Help. That doesn't make EA Help look good in the grand scheme of things, but it puts into perspective that it could be worse.

Also, I've recently had a case with EA Help that was "resolved" by them apologising for their inability to fix the problem, and offering me a free game as compensation.

They didn't say, "we'll give you this game and call it even" and throw something irrelevant to my interests at me. They checked out my registered titles that I have linked to my account, and gave me 4 games to choose from.

I say "4 games" but it was actually 3 individual games, and a boxed set of 3 games. So I went with "Thanks for the entire Mass Effect Trilogy. Been meaning to pick them up for a while, but never got around to it".

And yes, Dead Space 2 was also on their list, because I had the original game listed as something I own (although, thanks to my girlfriend panicking when I try playing it - EVEN WHEN SHE'S ASLEEP - I still have yet to finish the game). So that was a nice touch.

I'm hoping - HOPING, not expecting - that they offer a choice of games, and that the choice includes a reasonable number of options, and that, like in my case, they personalise things for each individual, so they aren't (for example), suggesting that someone who's only ever bought EA Sports titles other than Sim City should pick up Dead Space, or that someone with no non-shooter games other than Sim City would really love to play a 2-year-old FIFA game (because you totally need to go back a few games to follow the story).

I'm definitely expecting the "choice" part, but I think they're more likely to offer a range of very different games instead of personalising it for each individual.

Also, with regards to the complaint that I had with them in the first place, I hope one of the games they offer is Syndicate, and I hope a TON of people pick it up, and I hope that there are a LOT of follow-up complaints to EA Help that get EA to actually go back and make Starbreeze sort out the problems with that game. Even though it's likely to only see a fix for the PC version, and I'm on PS3, I hope this happens, because unlike many PC gamers, my copy is at least mostly playable.

And yes, I'm still confident that, after taking almost 11 months before they gave me a straight answer to "will you fix this problem?" and answering that they wouldn't, they're still doing MUCH better than Ubisoft Support, with whom I've had multiple dealings and absolutely nothing has even come close to producing a resolution or even something that resembles an effort on their part... With several cases lasting more than 2 years, and one which is 2 years of trying to get an answer out of them about something they should have known the answer to more than a year prior to me asking them for it.

Besides i didnt buy Sim City 5, nor do i have the slightest interest in ever buying it. If you did, I seriously and unironically hope you and everyone else gets a game you enjoy, I just dont really have much faith in EA any more.

I'm actually having a lot of fun with SimCity, the third episode of my let's play is uploading, meanwhile

is up!

As you can see, it works perfectly, doesn't lag, and is a well polished, albeit not at first, game from Maxis that captures the feel of every sim city before it, whilst adding new twists. Your personal feelings towards EA aside, this is a great game. I've been playing SC since 1995, so from an old hand take it from me, your "EA ARE TEH EVULZ" stance here is completely unjustified.
EA ARE TEH EVULZ is always justified, they have just done so many bad things they deserve to be punchbags. Being mean to EA is like laughing at a clown, its pretty much the correct etiquette.

WOW.

Why the hell did the mods suspend that poster? I am pretty damn sure he didnt do anything wrong...

It really wouldt hurt if the mods stated the reasons for warning at times...

Maybe it was the shameless plugging he's been pulling on EVERY SimCity thread?

OT: It'll probably be a choice that spans different genres, to please the most. Well, hopefully, anyway. They'll still be on Origin, though, which sort of ruins the 'gift'.

Some comments have already said that there'll be a list to choose from, but I'd still like to play the guessing game.

You'll get a choice of some of their greatest titles like Alpha Centauri, Nox, C&C Tiberian Sun, Delta Force, Theme Park, Sim Ant, Sim Tower, and many many more pre-2010 titles that they sold for $10 at Costco as part of a Buy one, Send away for one free offer a long time ago.

Why on earth was he suspended for 14 days for this? Christ alive if this was for linking to his own video the Escapist should be ashamed of itself, this website makes it's money by it's hit count and the add's it bombards it's user's with. People are complaining about EA while the site treats it's customers of another form like this. Seriously if he was suspended for this I half expect to be for this, if I am I'll be making my voice know about this kind of slap in the face attitude towards the consumer elsewhere.

I wouldn't mind MOH: Warfighter. Didn't give it a decent chance on the 360, maybe a PC version will be better. Anyone still play that game online though?
