The Battle For Middle-Earth II was good. Mainly for the setting though. And it was quite simple and light.

If they'll make something like Rise Of Nations (I know it's not EA's), I'm interested.

Even though the Tiberium series ended on a really sour note, I hope they're done with that. Leave it as it is. We all agree that Tiberian Sun was hands-down the best out of those games.

A new Red Alert or Generals would be cool-- or, hell, just a brand-new concept.

Either way, I'm just pleased to see they're not letting the series end because of one really bad game. I still really liked Red Alert 3, so if they could give us something else I'd be happy.

And yeah, bring back the base-building. Even though I liked the fast pace of Red Alert 3, I actually do kind of miss playing some kind of war version of Sim City with my structures. Tiberian Sun = "love".

Westwood is dead, and so is C&C.
So is the age in which C&C mattered.

Get over it EA; you screwed the pooch. Just let it die.

Generals and Zero Hour are my favorite Command & Conquer games, I really hope that they do bring Generals back...

Haha, another series to ram into the ground at the speed of light. All in all, I enjoyed most of the C&C games. So, I'll just put a silent prayer in and say my goodbyes to the series now. Mostly it was good, I would imagine that if you think some of the later games were shit, it's only going to get worse. That being said, I'll keep an eye out and my hopes high.

He wasn't involved with HoMM V. The last one he worked on was HoMM IV.

Oh dear.

That's not so good.

EDIT: I thought HoMMIV was still New World Computing, not Ubisoft?

This, plus didn't they say they'd finished with the Tiberium series when the released C&C4?

No, stop. You guys cannot resurrect C&C after Tiberium Twilight. I'm sorry, I miss it too but it's gone now. C&C doesn't need innovation, it needs a graphics update and love.

They want to bring C&C? Even after the monstrosity known as Tiberiun Twilight?

The least they should do is retcon anything about C&C4. Go back to the original formula, Make it face-paced like RA2 and TS, but give it the diversity and balance of later games like C&C3 or RA3. But please, pleeeeease don't try and reinvent the series like in C&C4. We don't need innovation, EA, what we need is friggin' base building!

I think I'm gonna keep an eye on this.

New World Computing were the developer, 3DO the publisher (For HoMM IV). As I said in my first post in this topic, Jon has never worked on a M&M game - Heroes or otherwise - with UbiSoft. His last one was HoMM IV and its expansions, back in 2002/2003. Nival Interactive did HoMM V, and I forget the name of the developers of MMH VI.

Ugh.... PLEASE don't let this turn into another Tiberium Twilight or Red Alert 3...

some how, I still liked C&C 3 Tiberium Wars though,... why does everyone keep trashing it?

oh, and Generals 2 PLEASE!!! (Ditch the C&C 4 / RA 3 engine though...)

Cool news. If that guy worked on Heroes 2-3+expansions, he's got my vote, those were some great games. I'd also love to see the C&C franchise return, Generals is my favourite RTS to date and the old Tiberian Sun games were a hell of a lot of fun as well.

After the disaster that was C&C4, I'm not sure a new Command and Conquer from EA will be any good. I really don't know how they could fuck up with that game considering the fans are practically telling them what they need to work on with the franchise. They should really do what Red Alert 2 did, even if the expansion missed up balancing beyond recognition.

I actually rather enjoyed Red Alert 3 a lot, and I loved the older series, especially the original areas and Generals. C&C 3 and 4 are the only disappointing games in my eyes, but while I could overlook 3 I could never forgive what happened in C&C4. I'll give them one shot. Tiberium is done for, Red Alert is pretty much summed up for the most part. Generals needs a remake, ASAP! So much story left open, such amazing game play that allowed for massive base expansion and limitless amounts of units. Chaotic fun of 4v4 games of modern armies massing hundreds of tanks, soldiers, and one Air Force support-style roll ally bombing from the background was a massive blast.

I loved being that support role, by the way. Air Force General is the only way to go, baby!

Remake it now, and as long as you follow what they did in the original Generals, I'll be a happy as hell fan.
