I get Tiberium Twilight but what was wrong with Red Alert 3? I really enjoyed it , ok the story could have been better but still the game was very solid and nice light change of pace after all the seriousness of C&C3 (yes that game was amazing, I don't know how anyone could trash it).gummibear76 said:Ugh.... PLEASE don't let this turn into another Tiberium Twilight or Red Alert 3...
some how, I still liked C&C 3 Tiberium Wars though,... why does everyone keep trashing it?
oh, and Generals 2 PLEASE!!! (Ditch the C&C 4 / RA 3 engine though...)
Some went and formed Petroglyph, who specialise in strategy games (Board & Video) and who are making two MMOs (I think).hansari said:How much of the original developers are still on this game? Didn't some of them leave and form a new studio to make an MMO...
I really didnt like RA3 because of several things. (Not in any particular order)kajinking said:I get Tiberium Twilight but what was wrong with Red Alert 3? Hell yes. C&C isn't the same without his music.teqrevisited said:As long as they get Frank Klepacki in on it they should at least equate a RA3 standard of product.
I guess I'm just a little less critical when judging games, I actually enjoyed C&C 4's gameplay but no one can honestly say the story wasn't complete garbage (here's someone who is apparently your wife and...oh she's dead). Red Alert 3 was fun for me but C&C 3 is still king in my book, I think we can agree nothing was quite as satisfing as dropping the hammer on someone with mass Mammoths or a swarm of Venoms. I have to agree with you though that the graphics of RA3 were terrible and horribly optimized, my system ran C&C 3 on high no problems but god forbid I play RA3 on medium without terrible lag.gummibear76 said:I really didnt like RA3 because of several things. 1) Story Sucked
2) I hated the look of the graphics (Tooney, and you needed a fast computer to make the game look decent)
3) Economy system (don't know why,but this really bugged me)
4) Support powers were much MUCH better done in Generals and C&C 3
5) I thought the combat was far less interesting/engaging...
6) It was silly (Ok, Ok, thats not always a bad thing, but I kind of like it when i can take a conflict/war seriously... I just didn't find that possible with bear Calvary charging around)
no matter how much I disliked RA3 though, it will never be worse than the complete peice o shit that tib twilight was.
I'm just happy to see more strategy games, honestly. And the C&C games always had my favourite systems and mechanics. Starcraft is fun for me, but I always found they were too micro-oriented and could never have as much fun with their universe. And Supreme Commander I didn't have any fun with at all.Yureina said:Ehh.... I thought the C&C francise was done. Can't they just leave it alone and try to create some new, more interesting idea? Making more games in that franchise just seems... ehh... why would they do this? >_>
Sorry but no matter what happens there will be fanboy rage.thethingthatlurks said:Step 4: PROFIT! And no fanboy rage!
