I'm no pro at legal stuff, but if I remember correctly there was something about the need to execute your trademark rights in order to keep them.
That would mean that Edge Games would have to bring out games that use the copyrighted name, but as I said, it might be very different, especially in other countries than my own (the one I live in actually, not the one I own.... later someday)

I have been following this story else where and am glad Shamus brought it to the escapist. I was thinking a class action law suite against Tim for lost revenue due to his legal shenanigans would do the trick. If the development community take him for every dime he owns and a couple dimes he may make in the future, it may serve as a warning to Tim and the next guy who tries to make a quick buck of someone else's work. Convincing a jury to side with a bunch of hard working programmers over a guy who lives to abuse the legal system can't be too hard right?

Really, isn't there a way to complain about this guy at the IGDA? There has to be some way to sanctionize members that are damaging for the gaming industry or the image of the IGDA.
The uproar in the gaming community just has to be big enough...

I was about to voice the same thing. If anything, I jsut wanna give the guy a very stern talking-to.

The man talks to lawyers for a living. Think about it- if he can stand those air horns, no amount of "stern talking-to" will shake him.
Threats on his life won't work, he knows how to use the law to his defense.
Thus he qualifies as "lawful evil" on the D&D 3.5 scale of alignment, and the only way to deal with these people is to permanently end their access to law, people, and money. And we know just kicking them out of their position won't work because that's how they find ways of revenge.

I think this guy may be worse than Jack Thompson because there's the remote possibility that Thompson actually believes what he's doing is the right thing. This guy most likely knows he's exploiting the system for his own financial gain, and that conscious knowledge somehow makes his endeavors more egregious to me.
