It's always nice to see people own up to their mistakes, and I never really bought their old excuse.

The thing is, depending on your build, the boss fights are either hilariously easy or maddeningly frustrating, which is incredibly anticlimactic/a slap in the face to the spirit of the game, respectively. That said, I managed to beat Barrett and Federova in about 10 seconds each, thanks in no small part to Typhoon spamming. But dear God was the fight with Namir annoying, mostly because I accidentally got the 'upgraded' biochip, so I had to fight him with no augs and a HUD that's spazzing out. It was an interesting plot twist, but goddamn did it make for a terrible boss fight.

Still, though, it's good to see them publicly apologizing for a huge oversight like this; I wish more devs would follow suit.

They more-or-less admitted after DX:IW that they didn't understand their audience.

If the boss fights are admittedly broken in HR, then issue a patch to fix the issue.

And this is the reason I didn't buy the game. Weak boss fights that completely throw out the build of my character make the game unsuitable for play IMO. Also it loses its place for personal GOTY candidacy since to me a boss fight that ignores your characters traits is game-breaking.
I did a no kill run (minus the bosses) as a stealth hacker. I had no problem beating the game and I didn't throw off my build. It really wasn't that hard...

Eidos wasn't the developer for DE:IW.

Admitting the mistake makes me happy. I have high hopes that next Deus Ex will be perfect. They have the complete formula to make it perfect, and now they know where their error was. They just can't make the same mistake when they admitted to know what that mistake was.

It's not even really depending on your build. They're all ridiculously easy if you know the cheap ways to beat them. Also, I had the same problem with Namir on my first playthrough. Spammed all my frag grenades and a bunch or shotgun shells.

OT: it's nice to see them own up. Hopefully the next one will be even better.

Is there a patch to remove the boss fights yet?
This was exactly my fault. At least I got it on PC so there's a chance of a mod for it.
I got on PC too but was never able to beat the 2nd boss (the female one) due to my weak weak gun skill and throwing away of all healing items because I played stealth up to that point and didnt need either.

I still haven't beaten Deus ex because of this and I really just wish they would patch them out, they are unnecessary and no one would miss them.

Im not sure how often I have to say this..

The boss fights ARE. NOT. HARD.

The first one can bassicly be stunlocked by a EMP granade.. which are found two at least in the very room.

The same applies for the second boss.

The third boss can be oneshot. By running up to him and PUNCHING HIM TO THE FACE.

And the last boss can be killed within the first 3 seconds of the fight, because the particle laser, which you find on your way, can shoot "through the fuggin security glass she hides behind"..

Sweet mother of god who keeps the QQ about the bosses alive..

I liked the boss fights, actually. Sure I mostly played the game shooter style, I probably wouldn't do that if I had played stealth. I fell for the chip trap, though, so Namir was annoying but the fight was still enjoyable.

Endings were complete shit, though. I'd rather them apologize for that.

This would`ve been one of those times where pushing back a game would`ve been acceptable. It , didn't work for Alpha Protocol, but it would've worked here. It wouldn't have hurt the release date, I mean it was the only major game this summer...

I loved the bossfights in deus ex, they're the reason I saved my grenades instead of just breezily walking through levels like a 1 man mortar squad.

Also, god bless node based path finding, nice little group of muppets to 'nade any time I give away my position

They should have phoned up hideo kojima, no one does boss fights better. What would have been good is if the last boss was actually challenging, that was a big letdown.

I'm Adam Jensen (seriously, follow me at http://www.twitter.com/AdamJensenSI). I particularly hated these so called "boss fights". Especially because the bad guys had guns. I mean. OW?

I don't mind the boss fights... I just mind the bosses in general. Unlike Metal Gear Solid (which they remind me of), we never get any backstory for them in the game or any dialogue about their motivations or why they want to kill you.
