The one thing I can't stand about these games is that all the kids who play them at a young age will only remember them as "Guitar Hero songs" and not as genuine pieces of art.

Sad that it has come to that.

That's why I love Harmonix, Yahtzee be damned :p

Harmonix seem to actually love working on their games as evidenced by better interface, very frequent DLC releases and whatnot. The GH guys are just like "dude, just give us your money"

They're not coming for the PS2? Idiots.
I'll have to get a PS2-to-USB adapter. Ugh.

next up is 'Music Appreciator Hero' The game where you play a music critic and listen to new pop songs and press the 'nod in agreement', 'shake head in disbelief', 'tap hand on desk' and 'various grunting noises' buttons along with your favourite tracks!

The only thing that looks remotely interesting on that list is DJ Hero.

It'll probably end up being a home-version of Beatmania anyway... :/

Just give me GH: The Clash, Black Sabbath, and the Beatles and I'll shut up about the franchising.

This reminds me of what Activision did to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
until the series died.(In my opinion American Wasteland is where things
really started going downhill,
but Proving Ground was the last nail in the coffin.)
Wasn't it Neversoft that did the Tony Hawk games? If that's the case, then perhaps they milked that series so dry they needed a new series to milk to the bone, hence the "passing of the guard" from Tony Hawk to Guitar Hero.

I'm wondering now when it was that they jumped the shark with the GH series...

Guitar Hero 1 was amazing, Guitar Hero 2 came from the gods, Guitar Hero 3 still great. Then there was two expansion packs (which suck) a spin-off and a piss poor attempt to make the Rock Band (anyone else find it wierd that you can sing or play drums in a game that's based on being a guitarist, it's like being a weapon sales man in a shooter like Call of Duty 4). Well, Rock Band is going to dry up soon and then music games will have no where else to run and eventually suck.

As a fan of the Guitar Hero games, and apparently the only person on this website who likes GHWT, I have to say that this is bullshit. There is no way they can release 8 titles in one year and expect them to satisfy the fans. I guess they think that if you make x amount of money with one title a year, you can make 8x money with 8 titles a year. Too bad that no one is stupid enough to buy the same game 8 times a year.

What the hell is "Band Hero" and how is it going to be any different then world tour in practice? Come up with some original deals and stop milking this series to death!

Also include some decent Coldplay music.
