Multiplayer? M'Aiq does not know this word. You wish others to help you in your quest? Coward! If you must, search for the Argonian Im-Leet, or perhaps the big Nord, Rolf the Uber. They will certainly wish to join you.
^^ that guys legendary, M'Aiq was best in Morrowind, harder to find and said better stuff, hopefully will pop up again in Skyrim

It's probably too late in the dev cycle to add a multiplayer component without pushing back the release date. I would like to have a buddy go dungeon crawling with me though. As long as they focus on making a solid single player game I don't think I'm gonna cry if there is no multiplayer.

Um.. Option for PVP?
If you want PVP go play WoW.

OT: IMHO Multiplayer is becoming a serious problem with the industry, and I'm glad Bethesda is making a stand against this terrible trend.
That's a very bad comparison.. WoW is in the smallest way like TES, why should i go play that if i wanted that kind of gameplay in PVP?

Idk about you guys, but I'd rather have a full developed Single Player mode with a "not-so-retarded" AI (Not like Oblivion "FOR KVATCH! *dead*" AI) than a decent multiplayer with co-op quests.

It'd be cool to have Co-op, but we all know it'd be all about PVP and making quests impossibly hard so you MUST do it online and other annoying bullshit that developers always come up with when integrating Online to a game that easily can be solo'd.

Because as someone else stated before me:

It is called world of warcraft.
If you hate it then you would obviously hate the Elder scrolls multiplayer.
There is no other way to turn a massive RPG online without making it into an MMO.

Furthermore if you want Skyrim to have multi, just get it on the PC and let the modders make it so we're not distracting the developers with what's really important: SINGLE PLAYER.

Also, when did i state i want online? Did you even read what i wrote? It doesen't mention anything about me wanting MP, i like TES just fine without it. Besides WoW is way different than TES.

I would LOVE for Skyrim to have multiplayer, even if it's a stripped down verison of the main story, I would still play it.

Could they not have multiplayer DLC missions or downloadable multiplayer mode?

Why does everything have to have multiplayer these days? Seriously it boggles the mind. Will it ever stop? Are people going to demand multiplayer in the Legend of Zelda? Oh wait, that already happened in Phantom Hourglass. Well perhaps we'll make a flight sim MMO! Ugh.
This. It always seems like people can't get enough of killing each other in their games. Go back to CoD:The Next Cash Cow and stay there if you want that crap.

As cool as it would be to have multiplayer in the Elder Scrolls series, I can definitely understand why they are hesitant to do it. Also, I personally have always thought of Morrowind/Oblivion as social experience. My buddy and I (since Morrowind came out until now) will watch each other player and/or play side-by-side on two TVs and have little Elder Scrolls parties. It makes for some great inside jokes. I would have no problem with them sticking with what works for them.

I am so glad they won't be trying to shoehorn mutliplayer into the Elder Scrolls. It just doesn't belong there, the Elder Scrolls have always been about the individual hero and their efforts, not a group of buddies. Multiplayer isn't needed and won't add anything to the experience, so it's best to just keep it out.

Thank goodness at least one company has figured out that not every game needs to have multiplayer. Many would be just fine, or better, without.

Nice

OT: An Elder scrolls game is a true RPG its most likely the only modern Rpg series That involves ROLE-PLAYING for example In oblivion you are in jail but for what reason they don't tell you your mean't to make it up and somehow having other players called Dragonborne or hero of cyrodill or the madgod would take away alot of role playing so I say keep it single player only, and as a internet famous man once said "A game must be able to stand on its single player alone" (quote by Ben "yahtzee" Croshaw)

M'aiq has some brilliant lines; I liked how they added him in to mock the criticisms.

"M'aiq prefers to adventure alone. Others just get in the way. And they talk, talk, talk."

OT: I like the fact Bethesda stick to their guns; the series hasn't had it yet and I don't see the need for it to be added now; if people want an MP Elder Scrolls game, they should develop it as a spin-off, rather risk the quality of the main series.

Why is it that so many people, when they hear multiplayer, assume that it's a mode for competitions, pwning noobs, and griefing. What's wrong with co-op modes? Maybe it's my old-school love of table-top playing, but epic quests are best when they're shared with friends.

I would love to see a game series like Elder Scrolls have a co-op mode. Granted, I don't think it's necessary at this time because Hunted: The Demon's Forge may very well scratch the itch I have for this type of game (though no local multiplayer option, sigh).

It's unfortunate that so many people are immediately turned off by multi-player modes. I know I'm not the only one with friends who also game. Do other people really prefer to simply relate their own personal experience to their friends over having a shared experience with them?
