Pretty much this, also so much emotions I don't think I can handle this thing!Neta said:Who is Ellen Page and why should I care if her face has been photoshopped onto some CGI body?
Maybe they can patch the nude model to give her horrific scars over all the bits of her body that we shouldn't be seeing. Maybe then she'll be happy?
I just watched a let's play video of this game and I found the story to be amazing and the characters to be sympathetic and engaging. It has about as much actual game play as a Choose Your own Adventure book but I still very much enjoyed it.CJ1145 said:I love everything to do with David Cage's games. They're always such clusterfucks of bad storytelling, poor design, and uninspired pseudo-occult bullshit. You're never bored with them! They're just too awful to be bored with. This is just the cherry on top of his latest Shit Sundae.
Honestly though, I'm not surprised by this. Seriously, not at all. Has everyone forgotten Cage's last nightmare of an "experience", Heavy Rain, where we're introduced to our female protagonist by ogling her in the shower for a disturbingly long time, and then we get to watch her get assaulted by a bunch of masked men and... frankly, possibly raped?
It's a dream sequence but that doesn't make the whole thing entirely disturbing, and NOT for the reasons the designers wanted it to be.
The uproars about sex in games seem to be dying down. There's been several games within the past couple of years that featured explicit nudity, for example Heavy Rain and Witcher 2, but there was no controversy.shogunblade said:I am a little more worried the moment someone like Fox News gets word on this and runs with it, It will set video games back, because 'Oh Noes! Nudity is in video games my childrens play, and developers R pervertz!"
It's not going to be the Hot Coffee Mod, it's going to be worse, considering Cage had paid somebody to design this.
inb4 model ripped to garrys mod wackinessLdude893 said:Well, I guess David Cage got too much emotion into the game than Sony and Ellen Page wanted.
Yeah, if you give people access to a CGI doppleganger of a real life celebrity, you're going to best bet that people will exploit it somehow.
And it's for this reason that I hope Ms. Page manages to get a nice hefty settlement from the corporation.MinionJoe said:Brilliant move on Sony's part. Fake outrage at customers uncovering "hidden" nudity drums up free press while said nudity prevents customers from selling the title back to Gamestop.
Well played, Sony. Well played.

Fuck it, Im gonna snigger anyways... and isnt it "snickering"?fix-the-spade said:Ellen Paige's contract will have clauses about unauthorised nudity/demeaning content (I mean, more demeaning than being the face of a Quantic Dream game). Putting 'her' nudey body into the game and then making it accessible, even by back door (no sniggering) means probably has entire armies of lawyers springing up out the ground like Spartoi.Niccolo said:Y'know, as long as the character portrayed is over 18 I don't really see what the big issue is.
They're the same word. Which one is correct depends entirely on where you grew up and your accent.WanderingFool said:Fuck it, Im gonna snigger anyways... and isnt it "snickering"?
IIRC one is an Americanisation of the other, but don't ask me which is which though.WanderingFool said:and isnt it "snickering"?
Breasts made out of emotions? David Cage, you have gone to far.an annoyed writer said:Because polygons is emotions, and jiggly bits is polygons.thaluikhain said:Why would you render her bits if you aren't going to show them? Wouldn't it have been much easier to make her look like a Barbie doll?
Seriously though? I dunno. Probably for the sake of "realism", though in a tasteless manner. Character modeling is getting to be a pretty intensive field these days, and some people I've run into do it just for the sake of doing it, even if they're not doing that shit for a thing focused on the jiggly bits. Some say it helps with "cloth physics simulation" or some BS.
I may need to find these images for my.......emotional stability. David Cage, why do games need nudity?luvd1 said:Hmmm. Is this what you mean by "emotion" Dave? Having a secret nudie vid of Ellen in full detail. It would make me "emotional".
