Jeez, I'm opening a can of wor...a resonance casca...a portal to hell here. But this has been bugging me for a while.
Basically put, what do you think of the constant barrage of the words "emo" and "angst" thrown at people who are...less than positive?
Only read this part if you give a s*** about my opinion!

I think people are a little hasty in this. *and tho, Doclector did raiseth his mighty flame sheild, althoughst it would probably be as effective as stopping a freight train with wet paper* for one thing, we all feel s*** at some point. Heck, there are many reasons to feel s*** right now. The economy, music sucks at the moment, hipsters, the economy, the norway shootings, the idiots running the economy...so on. Aren't we being a little harsh on people whose only crime is feeling crap? Even if they have bad reasons to feel crap? I'm pretty sure we've all at some point felt crap without things being that actually crappy.
For another thing, teen angst. Fact is, being a teenager is hard. As a teenager, you're expected to be responsible as an adult, but you're given practically none of the rights of one, or the freedom. Meanwhile, your body is surging with all sorts of urges, which you're often expected not to act upon. And if you do act upon them, good luck cutting through a load of coded communication.
We may not see it now, but being a teen was hard, especially at the time.
Also, discussion value. It's now becoming common that anyone with a viewpoint that doesn't pee rainbows and s*** chocolate is called emo for it. This can only lead one way, eventually people who aren't positive will drop out of debate altogether leaving things one sided and well, f***ing dull.
And finally, there's the risk. What if the guy you're calling an emo next actually is seriously depressed? What if such a barrage of hate pushes them over the edge? I'd rather humour a hundred actual Emos who have nothing to truly complain about than be responsible for driving the suicide of one actual case of depression.
