Most emo kids I know have to much energy, really I can't even remember when I last saw a depressed Emo.

Kids these days and their mixing of words.

The idea of being emo = thug sounds ridiculous, considering thugs and emos seem so different from each other.

It's a surprisingly fast cultural evolution, when the "Emo" style first appeared your description was accurate (ish) but for some reason other people such as pop stars and celebrities seemed to like some parts of the style - notably the hair - and adopted it. Now every young idiot in range of a clothes shop is trying to copy said celebrities because of the stunning origionality of doing so and wear some parts of the "Emo" style. And then there's Dayglow, the less said about the better so it can fade into the obscurity it deserves.

This is why if you want to wear black you just go full gothic, that's an established style that has already built up a negative image, so celebrities won't use it! (And old women sometimes jump into hedges to get out of your way, I know this from personal experiance. Don't look at me like that, I'd moved to the road-side edge of the pavement to let her pass.)

Emo kids are now fugs?

Are these fug's in the old sense, as in, violent chav like people? Or does the word have a new meaning now?

I mean, obviously dyed his hair to be edgy. At least he doesn't have one of those silly fringes.

This new world confuzzles me.

"Emo" used to be a genre of music, thats all. Today, the mix of "Scene Fashion" and general complaining-too-much-ness has become "emo", and its just another way of showing off and being "non-conformist" by being conformist... Conformist is an over-used word btw, just give it up ok?

"Emos" tend to complain about such silly things, things that almost EVERY teenager has a "problem" with, but they are the only ones comlaining about it... Your father doesn't understand you, of course not your a teenager! GAAH!

I'm a big fan of goth fasion myself, it's just the type of clothing I'm most comfortable with, that and cosplay =3.

Thug? what would a thug be? I've heard this before, and then a thug would be an in-your-face kind of bullyish person, but how can you mix this with "emo"? Btw, a thug wearing Scene Fashion clothing is still just a Thug...

Oh ho! Dealing with subgenres of music and how you "classify" yourself is going to be a losing battle. Listen to whatever you enjoy, hang your friend's opinion, and play that song quietly to yourself as not to bother anyone else =P

It's a perversion of the Emo style. Obviously this will vary slightly person to person but the Emo style is pure black cloth (as oposed to gothic which used a lot of metal, especially studs and chains on its black cloth) whereas the Dayglow style is this, but essentially designed to flourece in nightclubs. And sunlight. It's... well, it's bright. Flourecent bright. It's mostly a female thing; a dark top, dark skirt and mid calf black boots with flourecent yellow fishnets would be dayglow, it can be "enhanced" (imagine those quotes dripping with sarcasm) with accessories such as glow sticks or flourecent highlights in your hair (or wig).

Right, now you know what Dayglow is you can all avoid wearing it. Please.
