I mean, I am not trying to compare Grey Carter to Tim Buckley or accuse him of ripping stuff off. It's just that I see enough similarities not to dismiss some complaints out-of-hand.

I've grown fond of CM in the time spent here on The Escapist, and as Yahtzee, it's an integral piece here.
It's cynical, hard, on the spot, sometimes heartwarming and most of all funny.
(and i always like the lines/notes below, but i was always a big fan of Shirow's Hypernotes...)
Calvin and Hobbes is classic, so we'll not even dare compare CM with THAT.
I'll give you the latter, but CM is in many ways better than PA.
But that's my opinion.

Stout has schizophrenia, Calvin has adventures with his stuffed Tiger. There's no overlap there.

No, because that's not how the English language works. Saying something is a "rip off of" or is "inspired by" product x does, in no way shape or form, imply it's as good as, indistinguishable from or easily mistaken for said product in terms of quality. If you think it does, you're wrong. If I wanted to say "my comic is just like Calvin and Hobbes!" I would write exactly that. I didn't write that. You misunderstood. Um, she's not named after the food. She's named after Sir Francis Bacon, the philosopher. You know how Calvin and Hobbes were both named after famous European philosophers? (John Calvin and Thomas Hobbes, respectively.) The author of that comic obviously wanted to keep the theme going. A more suitable title it would be "Bacon and Tiger", cause, you know, Tigers love meat, hehehehehehehe....
Also, the RC video is funny and all, but do you let every movie, TV show, or comic become ruined for you just because Robot Chicken skewered it? If you do that, you'll have pretty much nothing left at all!
