This is interesting but I don't get how people already have over 100 points...I mean this wasn't up on the front page at all til today. I guess the people in the VIP club got first dibs at doing this.
I promise that we try our best to ensure no one is given an unfair advantage. We even keep an eye out for cheaters and try to squish them.

Now if you could just make it so that badges that you have already clicked on say something other then you have lost a point I'll be happy and not overly stressed that i lost another point in my slow decline.
Sorry about all the stress! (hehe) Thank you for the feedback and we?ll keep this in mind as a feature to add in future events.

Oh, I hate when that happens. You find a badge and earn a point (YAY!). Find another badge and you lose a point (Cries).

Hmm, the leaderboard currently has me in 39th and 42nd place at the same time. I guess I'm not going to win two Xboxes.

Thank you both for the heads up and feedback :) We are always monitoring for cheaters and appreciate any information that we might miss or misconstrue. All cheaters will be disqualified after a thorough review. Because this event was designed to be an overall experience for the community PLUS a game, there seems to be less incentive or reward in cheating.

Hey,

I totally understand your concern. BUT I was able to catch up really quick given that I was able to get 4 rooms worth of clicks. I guess it was to catch up? I don't exactly how it works. but I was able to click in four rooms. Which is how I was able to catch up so quick.

No worries! :D I think the only appropriate response here is...

Police Officer: Sir, are you classified as human?
Korben Dallas: Negative, I am a meat popsicle.

Are we not all meat popsicles at some point in life :p Epic quote btw.

Also on topic, i would hope that that is the case as it provides a means to finish the mansion at least.

Must be an off-day. Clicked on a dozen profiles or so with a net loss of -1. And after I worked so hard last night.

Damn, Only got three points this time. This game is trying to sabotage my 0% chance of winning this contest.
Ya I've had a completely off day, exact opposite of last night. Yesterday I got 56 points and was at 21 on the leader board at one point, but today I only rescued a survivor which for some reason didn't give me a point and the four badges I found have left with with exactly +0. Lady luck is cruel indeed, and I dropped to rank 31 after being SO close to top 20.

Ya the mansion lets you catch up on missed days from what I understood and experienced. I joined the contest yesterday and it let me open 3 rooms in one day.

I've had this account for over 2 years now and I'm ashamed to admit it took this contest to get me to take a look at the community side. Next thing you know, I might actually start posting.

Also, the avatars I've seen over the past couple days are some of the best I've seen in any community thus far. There's a seriously high ratio of clever/funny/awesome avatars.

Back to profile mining. I mean work. I'm supposed to be working. Yes. Work.

[clicks on 'Community' tab]

EDIT: Does anyone else visit the mansion throughout the day and feverishly click on all the rooms even though you know you have to wait until 11 EDT to continue? No? Just me? Hmmm. OK, back to...work.

Wow, it's really funny that we have had about the same reaction to this contest. I had never checked out the community here until this motivated me to; I'm amazed by what I've been seeing. I've finally started checking out other features and threads and absolutely love what I see from the community. So, ya I think this is going to make me a lot more active.

Being a college student with classes that end before noon and does hw at his computer, I just have a page of members open to mine when I take breaks from hw.

Yes, I do that as well. Haha it reminds me of knowing the fridge is empty but still checking to see if I have any food.

Oh btw, just saw this from community page. Happy Birthday

While I'm not quite that obsessive, I have mined hundreds of profiles for badges. (yeah, I know, sick in its own way). I'm new to the site, so I don't know much about how the badges work, but I'm surprised there's not an easier way to find people with a specific badge.

I've been visiting the escapist for years, but I have to admit, the contest is what got me to join. My son has been bugging me for a kinect incessantly, and I don't have the $150 to pony up for one. What a dad will do for the love of his son. *goes back to mining*

Actually, seems the best day to start this event is on day 7. Not only can you still do the entire mansion part but you can farm badges without accidentally checking the same hundred profiles each day and also your badge won't be available for others to farm throughout the week.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one dealing with the frustration of thinking you finally found another badge only to realize you already checked that profile. I understand the thought process of why joining the last day would be the most beneficial, but I'm not sure if I agree. I think most of us on the leader board have been doing a fair amount of farming badges, but none of us have the freedom to spend all day doing nothing but farming;I for one have responsibilities to take care of every day and would assume everybody else does as well. If you wait till the last day to join you won't have the time to catch up to everybody else to get in the top 20.

Also to take into account, it seems as tho the first couple of days it was easier to get points from badges compared to the give one and take one away that seems to happen now.
