Nobody picked up on the audio book idea here... Heck, I'd read the dang things for free. PDFs are a great thing, but a) occasionally Adobe locks up my laptop (usually when it updates), and b) I can't read from my laptop in the car safely.

p.s. We did seriously consider a "books on tape" approach with audio versions of articles, and might in fact do that one day.
Hi Wanderer-

The postscriptum in my original post shows that it was already being considered. The original suggestion didn't come from me, but from Archon's posting which shows this was an idea that had already been tabled by The Escapist's staff. The point just got drowned out by all of the other noise. It's easy for us to ask, but I know it'd be hard to do. At least if you wanted it done right.

I'd imagine the difficulty is that even a short print article could take a while to read. And I'm sure Russ would want to find someone with a good speaking voice and natural reading skills to do the concept justice. Then he'd have to wrangle a commitment from them to do the gig at least semi-regularly. And, he'd need to produce the audio and post the file on top of doing the podcast that's already there.

All that said, I'd still like to hear it.

I'm given to understand Willow Tree offers competitive rates too! Ian did a fantastic job on the new GWJ podcast as well :)
Shawn-

Just wanted you to know that this kind point promoting Ian and Willow Tree -- whether directed to me or not -- wasn't lost on me. As much as I'd love to employ his services as you do at the new GWJ podcast, it would seem he's already quite busy enough doing music for both of your shows...

Besides, he's got some rockin' harpsichord music to cook up for Escape Radio's new ultra-uptight podcast.
