Yeah looks like Hollywood is using "The Expendables" as a benchmark as now on. Just put a bunch of Triple-A stars in and magically(within the first weekend) and it prints money, let's do lunch.
How old are you? There are have been countless movies where the whole idea was lets get a bunch of actors who play in similar movies and have them work off each other. One particular movie rat race was pretty good at making a movie filled with just comedians funny at least everyone I've ever met thought so. There isn't anything bad with this thought process heck Eddie's orignal idea would have probably been a really successful one just based on nostalgia for the days of a main cast of African comedians being in a decently made movie.

I actually really enjoyed Rush Hour 1/2, and so did every other person I've met who has seen them.

What, Puss in the Boots isn't good?
If you watch his Shrek Forever After review you'll see that he doesn't really care for Dreamworks movies, so I'd be surprised if he did review it.

On that note, I actually do think a Donkey Spin-off is confirmed. That might just be a rumor though.

You all do realize what will follow [http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2008/06/03/beverly-hills-cop-4-may-be-geared-towards-kids-says-brett-ratner] if this movie does well in the box office. Hasn't Axel suffered enough?
Well supposedly Murphy has put the axe on that himself. In the Rolling Stone interview he recently gave he talked about it.
That's good to hear. And actually I could see this working as a TV series, even if the current market has an over-abundance of cop shows.

Hey, Red Dragon was awesome, Bob.

That's all I got to say. Don't have any other qualms with the rest of the review.

To those of you thinking that Murphy's original idea would have been a better movie, please consider previous movies with a black centered theme with Murphy as the star. It's an UGLY list with most of them bringing new concepts in the term "blaxploitation."

The only Joke in this movie... IS the movie.

I liked the Rush Hour movies, but that doesn't mean I care about any of Brett Ratner's other films.
Jackie Chan can carry ANYTHING, that is all

Also, he was in a serious movie http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1075419/ that was actually really good

Wait a second... Red Dragon was bad? Funny, I remember seeing a pretty good film by that name starring Anthony Hopkins, Ralph Fiennes and Edward Norton that was directed by Brett Ratner.

I'm guessing he thought that movie was a shoe in for something we would all go to see. If so, then he was right.

Directed at the crack at Donkey getting his own spinoff, ssssh! Careful, Bob, Eddie might hear you!

By the way, I love how you don't just tell us if a movie is bad and give us a score to mindlessly follow, but challenge us and others interested in films to understand why it was bad and how it could have worked, or why a movie was good and how it could have gone bad.

Okay, so the movie's crap and best avoided, I'll spend the money on a porno and some beer or something.

But seriously, Rush Hour? That was awesome. Even though they made 3 or 4 or the damned things I was never bored. I can't even think of anyone I know who didn't like it.

So what happens when you put a few washed-up comedy actors, some nobodies, and a crap director in a blender....

It was initially an all-black protagonist cast, and it got reduced to a bunch of white people plus one "African-American". Hmmmmm.
