think I've heard people have done it, but if you want it to exist outside of this website, you have to be incredibly lucky that you: a. have find a girl/guy you like b. they have to live a reasonable distance from you.

People have done it - I believe the most notable case was PurpleRain and Larenxis - but given that a lot of us aren't exactly experienced enough at dating outside of The Escapist anyway, it's going to be a rarity.

That reminds me; what ever happened to PurpleRain?

Well, to start I meet my current boyfriend on here through the game/RP forum. The RP we're still in, and where when we got together, uses Skype as an aid for posting. It's been about 4 months now and he's just a state away from me.

So far it's working out and it seems to have a good chance of still working out months from now. Hell another Escapist is the reason we're together. So yea I'd say it can and has happened.

OT: Sorry OP, I really have nothing to say about the topic. Actually, where would they go on dates? Forum Games? Then catch a drink at Religion and Politics? Maybe watch EC or ZP together? Dating on the Escapist is very limited and one might have to move over to 4chan for some "late night" affair.
