It can, has and will happen, even here.

I actually know of quite a few people on this site in relationships with people they've met here.

Myself included :3

Wherever large groups of people gather for long periods of time, probability states that eventually SOMEBODY is going to hook up. This is as true of internet forums as it is social gatherings.... ladies?

You can make anything sound creepy just by adding a dramatic pause and "ladies" to the end of your sentence... ladies?

I made my girlfriend get an account because you can learn a lot of stuff on the forums. She's not into video gaming (mostly because of parents/time), but she still likes the videos. Especially Daily Drop.

I wouldn't say that I am "dating" someone here, but I certainly could probably make that happen if I lived a bit closer to certain people. I guess I'll get back to all of you on that sometime. :3

Nope. Never happened. Most likely never will. I won't say that I'm not open to the idea though. There are many pleasurable women on here. Well..thats the extent of this topic for me it seems.

To be honest only 50% of your meaning is shown accurately through words so I don't think I could spot my type o' lass from somebodies forum post.
Use emoticons!!!!
Of course. That takes me back to a brief stage when I used to try to convey my exact emotion on MSN using different combinations of emoticons. For example a raised eyebrow plus guy with shades plus a heart meant sly confused arousal.
I'm very generic, rarely use more than 3 or 4 of those overall.

Except really elaborate ones, but those are on other forums.

i know people who've met over the internet and are completely happy, seems that although there is potential for lies and the like it also allows people who have social trouble to get around the bad first impression.

personally i rely on the whole i couldn't care less about your low cut top your still not interesting approach in clubs, works surprisingly well

- but given that a lot of us aren't exactly experienced enough at dating outside of The Escapist anyway, it's going to be a rarity.
That's a sweeping assumption to make, speak for yourself...
I can speak for myself very comfortably. I am twenty-two years old, and I will never have a romantic partner. No woman has ever been interested in somebody who has installed a 1960s computer operating system for the purposes of entertainment. I have essentially rescinded my ability to ever engage in romance, and I'm now actively looking for a way to completely destroy any impulses I have for romantic thought.

As such, all of the romantic threads on The Escapist that aren't in the Advice Forum depress me. Yes, I get it - I lost the genetic lottery and you didn't. You don't have to constantly laugh in my fucking face.
You'd be surprised at how some geeky girls will love you for crazy shit like that. Just sayin'. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and being so bitter, that'll increase your chances by 100x instantly. Next, CHAT with girls online and IRL. It's amazing how conversation can help. You'll have setbacks. Hoo boy will you have setbacks. But as you learn, things'll change. Now get out there and flirt! Also, use a RAM bouquet on your first date with the geek girl of your choice. :p

Just tossing the idea out there.

The Escapist or someone could host an Escapist Gaming Ball. It would include Dancing with bullets flying everywhere, moving armies, and Gunning down Zombies. People could be partnered up via Ps3, Xbox, or Steam and they would fight against paired up people. Could be a small sign up fee that would go to a charity the Escapist helped in the past.

It almost happened with me, if it wasn't for the distance (gee what a surprise) we would've made a killer couple, damn sure of that.

But alas, in this case it didn't went the way I would've liked it to go. But we still talk about crazy sex so it's good again.

Sooooo geeky Dutch girls, if you wanna chat up, I'm aaaaall open.

People try internet dating with this site? Huh, I had no idea.

Well I won't do it. I prefer meeting people in person rather than over the internet, got nothing against it mind.
