So in clicking through some old videos just for luls I had encountered some commercials.

I understand its how the website makes money. I can handle the 15 second ones.

But no, there is a ddo commercial that is litterally 80 seconds long. What, The, Fuck?!

I choked this down once. Watched my video moved on. Then the very next video had the same goddam commercial.

I wasn't gonna play that bad game before, sure as hell won't now on principal.

Well I am wondering why we need more ads. Sure, there were a few 15-30 second ones before, but now we have the publishers club. Thats 10-20 bucks a person, and it looks like roughly a third of the active forum posters are in it. I'm not privy to financials on the escapist, but why do we need more ads when there's a large new vein of revenue coming in?

I haven't run into that commercial yet, but it seems like a good way to ensure you actually make less money since no one will watch videos in a row at that point. Also, speaking of ads in general, how is escapist going to make money otherwise? There really can't be that many people joining the club since I've yet to see a good benefit from it.

If you had used your common sense you would have realised from the OP that it is not the content of the adverts that annoys him.

Now you're just being difficult for the sake of it. It is common sense to simply ignore adverts. You can even do it whilst looking straight at them. Don't you watch TV?

Umm, it doesn't seen anyone else has actually encountered the ad, myselff included.
But, even if it is out there, who cares? Look away, turn off the volume for those 80 seconds, open a new tab and check the forums.
I mean, yeah, sure, 80 sec ads are ridiculous but this is nothing that should seriously bother anyone, is it?
