Escapist Downtime

Alright, so lately The Escapist has been going down for me quite a bit. Am I alone in this? Anyone have any idea what the deal is? I'm not complaining about a website going down for a few mins, lol. Even I have enough of a life to survive without Escapist. But it's rather annoying when it happens mid comment publish or message send.

Really? It just went down for me and stayed down for about ten minutes after posting this thread. It's also only this site that it happens to, so it can't be me losing my net connection or something.

Not a huge issue. But annoying.

It's not gone down for that long but it's had quite a few hiccups today. Pages are taking a long time to load and sometimes they don't load at all. Oh and everyone's badges disappeared at one point.

I'm guessing cause it's E3 week they're getting more traffic than usual.

The site is also agonizingly slow to respond and load lately, too. Not allthe time or anything, but far, far more frequently than any other site I know of.

That's pretty much my idea as well. They're pushing out so much E3 content, publishing articles, embedding videos, posting links, ETC... all happening in a constant stream so yeah, pages will load slowly, you may get the "Cannot Connect to Server" error.

Same thing happens EVERY Wednesday when Yahtzee unleashes his newest plague-hate video.

Haven't noticed any issues today at all. Or yesterday, or for a while actually.

Must be some gremlins along your route somewhere. The internet is a fickle thing.

Apparently, there's a "Disable Badges" setting in a "Forum Browsing Options" section.

I haven't been having any downtime at all.

Speed is normal, everything is loading fine.

It's been acting up for me too- pages taking forever to load or just not loading at all, that sort of thing. At first I thought it was my internet, but other sites were fine so... yeah, I guess it has to do with E3.

Although Destructoid has been working fine for me. Huh.
