I only know of the search bar. Everyone who mentions "The Basement" is talking about something I don't know of.

Imagine the Escapist as a House - Trolls are in the Fireplace, The Banned people are just over the fence at the back, Off Topic Is the front room, Gaming is the Back room, Religion & Politics is the Kitchen (as its got more chance of bursting into flames) and the News Room is the control centre upstairs. On the entry to the basement staircase is small groupings for Priate & The Asylum (two of my haunts) and then there is the glowing purple door.

Many have gone in. None of come out. Some have seen the evil, but are too damn crazy to describe the inside. I B ONE OF THOSE!

And I have to say that I disagree, P.R.I.A.T.E and The Asylum are two awesome usergroups that I really should be a bigger part of. Actually, I think I'll go make an attempt to be a bigger part of them. I'm doing this! This is happening!

I tried to talk in P.R.I.A.T.E but everyone just ignored me because I wasn't a regular so I just gave up.

I've been wondering about that for a long time, actually. Did we actually invent it? I've been on a lot of forums, but this is the only one that uses "ninja'd".

Sassafrass runs it. He'd be the only one we'd actually listen to when orders are given. You should talk to him about it if you feel like pursuing the matter.

No I'm not overreacting, like you said its community and if I don't like it I should ignore you, but I can't can I?, because I'll go into a thread I want to partake in and all of a sudden "PRIATE" when I least expect it.

Seriously, think about how if everytime a thread was about "What bought you to the Escapist" and I answered "well I came here for ZP, then the community, then I got Furry friends and we told everyone on the forum that we are Furries". You'd all be up in arms!

Anyways, I can see your point, but unless you bring it to the attention of Sassafrass, like Furburt suggested, or a site moderator, then I doubt anything will happen in the way of getting people to stop.

I don't mind either, but not to the point of excessiveness, as you've rightly pointed out I should bring it to the attention of the "leader" which I believed was Furburt, as discussed prior.

Now I know its Sassafrass I'll ask him with regards to my request of curbing the constant "PRIATE" on the forums.

From what I can tell, The Basement would be one, as well as Ponies and other things of such.
I doubt they will be recognized as such by certain Users who like to think they are "Above Memes" (As Elitism is quite present in the site), but it sounds like they would classify under Memes.

No, it's not that, but..why does seeing PRIATE mentioned offend you so much that you have to actively complain about it? I mean, sure, we might talk about it a bit much, but that's not really that offensive, is it? I mean, there's a group on here that I don't particularly like, not naming names, but when I see them talk about their group, I can't say it annoys me.

I mean, in the end, it's just people talking on a forum. Even if you don't want to use Ignore on it, it should be fairly easy to just tune it out without getting annoyed about it.

I've tried to ignore it, its slowly become louder and louder, I wasn't bothered by it at first... but everywhere I go... its there.

I wasn't actively complaining about it, all I ask was that it be toned down, like i've said before, its good that you have made friends on here but when it bleeds out onto other conversations it can drown them out.

If I was actively complaining I'd be bitching to the mods right now, all I'm asking is that the User Group bleeding that is happening into the forums be curbed somewhat. PRIATE is currently the loudest this week, next week, it'll be another group unfortunately.

Every other post does not have to be about a user group, and your intelligent enough to know that.

What is happening is actually alienating some newbies, you'll just have to trust me on this, its how forums work, it creates an "us and them" attitude.

Hell, I am not even a newbie and the whole "in-crowd" thing irks me. It reminds me of college. Although seeing how it is fully encouraged by the staff I wouldn't get so worked up about it, as it's here to stay.

Thank you, we should create a User Group and Clique with regards to cliques, a bit like how the punk movement is anarchic but has a rule set of its own to follow in order to be a punk.

We should call ourselves "The Oxymoronic Ironic AntiClique".
