Frankly, I think the ouya has real potential. Right now, I'm kind of "eh" on console exclusive AAA offerings, but I'm quite interested in some of the titles that are PSN and XBLA exclusives. Trouble is, I'm having a hard time justifying the purchase of about $600 worth of consoles to play those games. If the ouya were to really take off, I'd be very happy to buy a $99 console to be able to play cool Indie console games. It's almost a no-brainer.
All those people who are clamoring for Assassins Creed and Call of Duty on this thing are probably folks from low-income households who can't get the AAA stuff right now because they can't afford the hardware. Sadly for them, they've completely misunderstood how this sort of thing works; even if you could get around the issues of architecture and licensing, most publishers are probably not too excited about working with a completely open platform.
