I'm with you on that Caliostro. The only exception to that rule is Scouts V 1 Demoman, now THAT is a fun way to practice. It's great.

When I go to my Steam games list, it doesn't even show up as having it pre-loaded, even though it HAS been for several weeks.

That's when spying is fun. I always feel a bit mean when playing against stupid people though. It's like they're trying, but they don't look behind them once so it's like I'm stopping them from playing or something.
On the other hand, they need to be taught a lesson.

Orangebandguy and Wordsmith know a bit about heavy,
Ollie knows sniper.
Root's a good spy
SnakeF and Irridium are great soldiers.
Calliostro is a brilliant scout,
Dazz and ravenshade are decent pyros.
Taint is learning the ropes of demo. but orange and dazz are decent at that too.
Kraken is a decent Engie.

No mention of Danny the Engy or Phoenix the spy? Watch your back, lad

Dang I haven't played for you guys in a while, it's a damned shame I don't have that much time for TF2 nowadays. I should really look up the Escapist TF2 servers again, although I'm only a shadow of my former self. I used to be, excuse the gloating, a brilliant sniper. Kinda lost my touch, maybe all your heads would make good training material.
