Escapists who have drifted away

I was just reading a couple of old threads when I realized that I haven't seen The_root_of_all_evil [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/BonsaiK] in forever. Upon looking up their profiles I realized that they seem to have left this site quite some time ago. I'm sure there are a lot more avid posters that have left but I just can't remember them. This brings me to the purpose of the thread: come up with all of the memorable posters that have drifted away, left in a huff, or that you otherwise just don't see anymore and maybe say a little about them if you feel like it.

I disappeared from the site for quite a while myself, but unless you venture into the forum games a lot, you probably didn't notice.... not like I post enough to be memorable. CuddlyTomato is one. He had Butters from South Park as his avatar. One of the few people who always kept a cool head in religious debates. It is a shame he decided to leave.

I miss the the_root_of_all_evil as well. He was very friendly and had a great sense of humour.

BonsaiK did not drift away as such, he left for a very specific reason.

I am not sure Onyx has really been gone long enough to say that he has drifted yet. He hasn't posted since September, but he was last on three days ago.

I was never that close to anyone who left so I have feck all examples but Root of all Evil was pretty decent. KrazyKid went on holiday to Cuba recently without telling me so I got a teeny bit antsy (shut up, i'm easily disturbed)

I could never drift away from 'Scapist anyway. Rookie would never let me. He loves Skyping me just to say his opinion on the current round of threads. Usually pretty harsh considering we share a collective distaste of racism and sexism threads, that one incest thread a while back and all that other stuff that has been plaguing this site for ages and just WILL NOT go away.

It was fun while it lasted (actually no it wasn't but roll with it) but let's all move on chums! Please?

Simulord is the one I remember most, mainly because I usually disagreed with him but he was a decent poster.

OT: Most users who have left have taken to Twitter I've seen. It's where I am and it's where I talk about games most often. Sure I'm here. Sure I go to Reddit and 4chan and wherever else to hear opinions on games but I mainly post on Twitter, occasionally popping back all like "Hey, what's going on? kthxbye."

Calumon: He's just really lazy and he can't post on here from his phone that easily.

As for Onyx Oblivion, I played a bunch of Mass Effect 3 MP with him last year. Haven't really heard from him since then though.

SimuLord come to mind but last time I've check he hang around in the Kotaku forum I think (it's one of the popular gaming media related sites)?

Also I guess it's a good thing that no one had mention LilithSlave well excpet for me now since in her eyes, she think most of us are crazy for not knowing that game Touhou eventhough that game isn't that popular to be mainstream (I mean you don't read of any Touhou news on here). Again last time I've check she apparently did find a Touhou website paradise she was looking for.

Honestly the "GAMING IS SRS BZNS" is really what draws me away from this place nowadays. 4chan's /v/ is like that a bit, but you can actually laugh at that as grown men try to debate whether or not 'fun' is a valid positive point on a game. On the Escapist it's less funny. Much less funny.

Thanks. I do occasionally wonder if I should get back into the old days and post regularly again since a lot of people seem to enjoy that, but every single time I do, something turns up which gets the forums talking about homophobic, sexism, racism or other issues, which is good, but the fact it takes up so much of the forums, always diverging to different topics as people treat the forums like their own personal blog I just get sick of it. Times have changed, I suppose. Besides, not right now, I have exams to do.
