He also appears to be wearing a Leather jacket and a sonic shirt.
This is just too good to be true.

It's not the fedora itself, it's the wearer... It's a stereotype that an overweight, unhygienic atheist wears it to make themselves seem more classy than they actually are

Here are some samples

Well I'm basically two out of the three. Suppose I can't wear a nice hat now.

*sigh* this is why we can have nice things, internet.

There is nothing wrong with the fedora if you can make it match the rest of your outfit. Exhibit A, Yahtzee.

Also, most "fedoras" worn by europhic anti-thiest heroes are actually trilbies.

It's more of the smug, hostile attitude that puts people off... or at least that's what I hope XD

Sometimes, good news writes itself.

But I disagree that the guy in the image is wearing a Sonic shirt, one part because the image is too blurry and another because there's no way it can work out that perfectly.

There's a stereotype where people think that they're magical pieces of clothing that can make them instantly sophisticated and desirable, much like some kind of Indiana Jones or a 1920's film noir detective. And then we all laugh a bit because a $4 tiny fedora on someone's head has the complete opposite effect.

And it's always fedoras. Never trilbies or irish caps or (heaven forbid!) baseball caps. It's downright fascinating to me that it's always a fedora.

Funny, I was thinking it needed an official endorsement from Euphoria Magazine

And I was surprised it wasn't an MLP shirt...

I'll give up my dream of one day wearing a nice hat, but if the internet takes away my trench coat I will fucking cut someone.

I like my big coat :(

I've got a special place in my heart for this brave shirt. I'd allow this instead of brony memorabilia.

Unless you're going to take pictures of yourself in a fedora and a t-shirt and post them on the internet, nobody is really gonna give a shit what you wear in real life. The fedora is mostly formal wear, and if your wearing it with a suit or at least a dress shirt, and the hat actually fits, even a fat athiest nerd can pull a fedora off pretty well. If you treat it like a baseball cap and wear it with a Sonic the Hedgehog shirt and an ill-fitting leather coat, people are probably going to think you look silly, but even then most of them will just snicker behind your back.

Unfortunately, fedoras seem to get treated like they're baseball caps, some people seem to think they go well with anything and you can buy them in a one size fits all mentality. Fedoras come from a time when a hat was tailored to fit the head of the person wearing them, certain sizes and head types were tailored completely differently, or even had different types of hats made specifically for them, and it generally looked pretty good, nowadays, you just buy things mostly based on generic size guidelines, so people in these types of hats don't look nearly as good.

So it begins... the great Atheist uprising of our times. Put away your religions and pledge your allegiance to Dawkins people before the fedora-wearing mobs come for you!

This thread is about as cringeworthy as any similar Reddit post, and to me, that's saying something.
