ever been so lucky (or I suppose good) that you've been accused of cheating online

I was playing bad company 2 as I am off to do in my spare time. I am by no means a pro gamer but, i was doing pretty well this game and was on a winning streak getting lots of kills. i have become really good using the spot ability (you press select when you see an enemy and a little notch goes above their head) and just firing in burst which makes every rifle accurate. and in the middle of a game i get a message from some guy on the other team that said "ban for using aim bot/aim assist" now this confused me 1, I had no idea what that meant other then he was mad at me for cheating cause nothing happened and 2, I was playing on an Xbox 360 and I suppose you could mod it to do that and heck I'm just worried it might die let alone trying to modify it in any way. I wish i could tell you what the kill was but honestly i don't remember must have been a pretty good shot.

how about you guys any crazy war stories from the front-lines or tales of grand bequeath-ment of death on the fields of yore that blew people's minds?

I routinely score in the upper 5000s on BC2 on the 360, but I've never been accused of cheating, so I think you just got hit by some guy who's really bitter.

My friend told me a story once of how he got banned from a TF2 server after he (as the sniper) accidentally headshotted two spies that were invisible. Both times he was aiming for someone else.

Yep. And it was definitely more luck than skill.

I was playing MW2 ages ago on Hardcore Team Deathmatch and was on 23 kills for 0 deaths. Then one of my teammates shot me in the head because they thought I was nuke-boosting. To be fair, if the positions had been reversed I would have made the same call.

I've been accused of using an aim-bot on the TF2 server I frequent.
And probably accused of cheating in various ways on various console games, which I don't remember.
But it's fun to do well enough to be accused of cheating. I was just on a roll, not my fault the enemies keep lining up to die.

Yes, quite often in MW2 Normal TDM. With my SPAS I usually end up first with a pretty high score and people sometimes rage and start calling me a cheater. I thank them, because that is basically complimenting my skill.

CoD MW2.

Used to be a big FPS player back when UT had it's massive tournaments. I was in a pretty decent team back then and we did fairly well in the rankings and, not to sound egotistical, I was pretty good.

Gave up on FPS games after that I think I burnt myself out.

Anyway, my missus got me Modern Warfare 2 when it came out. Spent 12 years in the British Army and I do miss it so she got me something to that would allow me to shoot people in the face without risking my own health (bless her, she can't stand the thought of me getting injured again).

So I hopped on multiplayer and shot some clever git that was happily jogging infront of me and he started yelling at me for being a cheater and "hacking". I sat there with a confused look on my face thinking "hang on, I was stood there and he was infront of me running along, at what point would hacking need to be done to shoot such an easy target".

So I shot him again.

He was not amused.

Started yelling some more about speed hacks and aimbotting.

So I spent the remainder of the game hunting him down and killing him whenever I got the chance. Pretty sure by the end I could hear sobbing.

And that was also my last time in multiplayer.

Disclaimer - I'm not claiming to be great at CoD multiplayer after such a long absence from the FPS genre. What I am claiming is that guy was absolutely terrible.

Yep.
Counter Striker 1.6, all the time.
People ignore the basics like "listening to footsteps" and "using your seemingly useless radar" to get the leg up on other people...
I got accused (and banned) of hacking regularly, until I found a server where people knew what they were doing, became an admin, and simply shrugged those accusations off.

It happened to me very often in Call of Duty 4.
Mostly people accusing me of a modded controller because I could fire handguns very fast.
And if you ever go at least 20 and 0, people will always think you are cheating.

I apparently have a pretty decent trigger finger, because I was accused of having a modded controller using the FAL in MW2. Funny though how that never happened in Black Ops, even though I use the FAL there too.

EQ2 battlegrounds in the lower brackets. If you took the right AA (basically talents), you could increase your run speed song to about 76%. Then, there was the Green Journeyman's Cloak, this little freebie they gave trial accounts that increased your runspeed by 25%.

And as you can imagine, the run speed song and the cloak stacked. So I had 100% runspeed... without a mount (this was actually faster than any mount in the game at the time when I played). So you can imagine some of the comments I got when I played the capture the flag maps :)

I once got accused of cheating on TF2 when I singlehandedly beat a full health Heavy/Medic combo in a straight up fight as Spy

Used all my Ambassador ammo to do it though

PRO TIP

One Spy cannot handle being charged by a Heavy/Medic combo... Something these idiots seemed to miss entirely

I was playing Trouble In Terrorist Town on a friends account(It's a gametype on G-mod) and we hated the server, so I was like "Would you get mad if I just randomly killed a bunch of people until they ban you?" and he didn't care, so I killed one guy, hid in a corner and then as like 4 people walked up and STOOD IN A LINE I just drew my Desert Eagle, got headshots on all four without even moving my cursor and they banned me for "RDM-ing and Possible Hacks." I loved it.

well anyway, my response is always the same: "if you are so sure, report me to the server admins."

Plenty of games, TF2, BC2. Gears is a big one aswell, "OMG HE GUNNED ME DOWN USING A MACHINE GUN FROM A FAR DISTANCE AND MY SHOTGUN DIDN'T KILL HIM!!!!111ONE!1ELEVEN"

The best was a few months ago on NFS: Hot Pursuit, some guy screaming down his headset at me for speed hacking...yeah I'll give you a second to facepalm.

Starcraft 2. I'm by no means good at it, I'm Silver League (for those who don't play, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Masters and Grand Masters are leagues that players are put into based on their skill) but back when I was bronze and was learning the ropes I went up against an enemy who accused me of cheating because "u cant have that many units and upgrades that early". Turns out you can if you take an early second base :p

Every time I play as the sniper in TF2 I get accused of hacking (Because it is impossible that I just learned how to aim at heads) which started when I learned the hitboxes of all the classes in the game (So know where to shoot fast moving targets in order to register a headshot and not a bodyshot)

A few times in CoD:WaW when using a sniper rifle to kill people either through walls (Because of seeing a dot on the radar or muzzle flash out of a window) or in one shot (Lots of offensive perks leaving me squishy as hell)

A lot in the first Gears of War (I didn't really like number 2's online and haven't got 3 yet) when I learned the hitboxes of people who are sprinting to be able to head shot them with the sniper rifle(A lot of people think that just doing that should stop them being head shotted just because they can't hit people doing that) also that one annex game that ended with me having a 255-1 K:D ratio... The next highest was a guy on my team with like 100-23. I can't remember how long it took but I did just run around the map picking up the sniper rifle spawns and stopping the enemy from capping.

Various online games where I throw a grenade for the hell of it and get 2-6 kills by accident... Always leaves me in stitches when it happens though.

Edit: Wolfenstein Enemy Territory - Whenever I get a kill with the mortar (Since it's based on pure luck unless someone in your team tells you where people are and you know how to adjust your aim perfectly) I just aim it at highly travelled areas and hope

wierd, I didnt know that pointing and clicking at players was that hard...

Ugh yes. Hardcore TDM on Black ops... I went 35-12 with a FN FAL and apparently nobody can get that many kills with a FAL according to a (as I was later informed) 15 yr old kid. Apparently he wasn't 12 as I suspected. To prove I wasn't using a bot we were on the same team next game and I TK'd him twice then followed him blinding him with concussion grenades.

And as everybody else, someone on TF2 complained because I was "shooting rockets from my flamethrower"...also known as using airblast when he shot them at me. Now a moment of silence to hear palms hit foreheads... that was nice.

On multiple occasions I've been accused of being a wall-hacker(Black Ops, the black bird is by far the best perk ever), having a modded controller(namely with the FAL on MW2, but now I've been accused of it for Gears 3 now as well with the hammerburst), and then there is just people with terrible connections which claim I can't die because they shot me but it didn't count(Call of Duty is the biggest offender of this, especially Black Ops where you can get a good solid second of shooting on an enemy and the killcam shows absolutely none of it).

There's plenty of other examples that escape my mind, but those ones almost always had a high squeaky voice to help scratch that memory into my mind.
