As soon as you catch a pokemon, it's recorded in the Pokedex. Then release the useless pokemon you don't want to keep.

You're not quite getting what I'm saying.

REMOVE THE POKEDEX FROM THE EQUATION.

Now, it is not possible to have every pokemon in the PC. The storage system. The place pokemon go when not in your party. There is not enough room there for all of them.

In Platinum, I finally saw every last Pokemon. I filled up my Pokedex completely and I was very proud of myself. And then I got the second Pokedex. Where you had to find every last Pokemon ever made. I just quit trying after that.

In Pokemon Red i managed to catch 147 Pokemon, then my game erased itself

so no i haven't but i was so close

I had 149, missing only Taurus and Magmar, then my lousy younger brother started a new game....

I almost did on Fire Red. Then I went onto Four Island, leaving metre-long gaps in the 'dex. Mean game.

I caught them all in the only game that it mattered, pokemon red.

I have always wondered what happens when you talk to the gamefreak staff guy. There is a guy in the majority of the pokemon games who tells you to talk to him again when your pokedex is complete. I want to know what happens with him.
