I had a rather unhealthy obsession with Kimahri from Final Fantasy X. One day it just kinda disappeared (thank god).

... He has since been replaced by Garrus... Yay, forever alone.

Also, I REALLY REALLY REALLY wish I had a little sister like Nanako from Persona 4.

Currently I'm quite attached to Yukari in Persona 3 (DON'T SPOIL ANYTHING! I'M ONLY MID OCTOBER!) Because she reminds me of someone close to me and I just like her as a character. Persona 4 I was attached to Rise (I know, I seem to go after Lovers Arcana) because I liked her character arc too.

Oh, and Luna, my Umbreon in Pokemon HeartGold, she follows me everywhere, even when I don't have my DS on me.

Sir Lavitz in legend of the dragoon. One of my favorite all time characters. His death was so undeserved... Other than that maybe Snake(MGS), Noa (Legend of legaia), and Alyx Vance(HL2).

I actually already gave my answer in the previous thread that was similar, so I'll just quote myself:

The closest I've ever gotten to a deep connection with a fictional character is easily Ashley Williams from Mass Effect. Yes, I know she gets a lot of hate but I instantly liked her for her tough girl attitude and wisecracks and found myself growing fonder of her as the game progressed.
She was a rare case of a character that I actually felt like I got to know and understand, even her faults like her aggression and distrust towards aliens actually helped me grow attached to her because flaws help define character. Plus it was kind of neat that I was able to persuade her to change her worldview or at least be more open minded and look at this whole situation in a 'big picture' kind of way.
It was pretty cool that a game where the central theme essentially was 'time to let the past be the past and move on and come to terms with change and relations with new cultures' that there actually existed a character who you could argue with and yet still be able to romance.

As far as Mass Effect 2 goes, well, Horizon sucked. But I fault that on horrific writing and unlike the many angry people with appalling spelling and doubtlessly bad grooming out there... it wasn't enough to turn me off. It was actually pretty easy to stick with Ashley even though she only showed up once and not exactly on the best of terms.
And even though the game keeps shoving Liara into my face, desperatley trying to convince me that she's the 'right' choice and pushing Ashley further and further away from the spotlight or anything to do with the main story, still I dug my feet deeper into the ground and determinedly stayed the course.
Which is a lot of commitment given that I'm talking about a fictional character.

If nothing else, the fact that I've verbally defending Ashley numerous times, regarding numerous issues that people keep bringing up against her and that I've never given up no matter how stubborn said people can be in their arguments should be enough of a sign that the character has certainly grown on me, and even though I can't say I approve of the decision made by Bioware to make her look like a spandex wearing supermodel for Mass Effect 3, it's also not going to be nearly enough to even bother me.

So yeah, to Ashley Williams. My ultimate game crush, few would I ever defend with such determination and valor.
So yes, that's the video game character that I've gotten very emotionally attached to, in fact it's gotten to the point where a lot of my enjoyment of Mass Effect 3 hinges on how well Ashley is represented in that game.
Glad I'm not the only one. Funny, she survived on all my ME playthroughs. There was one or two where I intended to save Kaiden instead, to shake things up a little, but I could never do it.

Most of my companions in BioWare's games specifically the romantic interests (For me, Bastilla, Liara, Tali, Leliana, Morrigan, and Anders). I felt really attached to some of the companions in Fallout: New Vegas.

And, of course, my Pokemon, especially my Dragonite, him and I have been through it all...

Gawd, when I saw the new Spyro, it felt like someone ripped out a large chunk of my childhood and smashed it into tiny, unrepairable bits.

Many characters actually. Characters from Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Metal Gear Solid, KOTOR, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age. I end up feeling emotionally connected to a lot of them.

My character in Saints Row 2. I know it sounds weird, but I really liked him. He was pretty fun to play. Also Zeke in inFAMOUS 2. He gains a lot of depth and character. That's why the bad ending killed me a little..

I get quite attached to my characters in RPGs, especially MMOs. I don't know. I can only image it has something to do with the massive amount of time I spend with the character, as well as the fact that I'm the only person responsible for his or her personality. I have an odd sort of fun imagining how any of my characters would respond and behave during quests and such. I'm a weirdo, I know.

But have you ever gotten really emotionally attached to a video game character up to the point where it doesn't even make sense?
Of course not. Every character I've gotten attached to, I've gotten so for perfectly sensible reasons. Hell, one of my chosen genres (visual novels, particularly Japanese ones) more often than not banks on it. So yeah, I could actually give plenty of examples (from several genres), but for the standouts...

Especially Kana.

From non-visual novels...Colette Brunel, from Tales of Symphonia. I spent the first quarter of the game growing attached to her (which meant her worsening condition hurt), and by the end of that quarter, I would have walked into fire for her...actually, you kinda do do that during the course of the game, but I did so totally willingly.

Quite a few actually. Though I guess if I had to choose one I would say Big Boss from the Metal Gear Solid series. You really become attached to the man as a good person and as a patriotic soldier in MGS3 and then in the following games you see him become more and more bitter over all the crap his government puts him through. The most humanizing moment of his character and of the entire series was when he was saluting the grave of his old mentor and bitter tears of remorse were flowing down his cheeks as the gravity of what he had done came to the surface, at that moment I could never look at him as a 2 dimensional terrorist but rather could truly sympathize with him and his Outer Heaven ideal and all that it entailed.

Victor and ED-E from Fallout: New Vegas. I love those two adorable robots.
Victor annoyed me, but ED-E was definitely my favourite companion from any RPG game. I had him modded to spout random movie clips instead of the normal trumpet sound in battle. I was pissed when he died in hardcore mode and rage-killed everything in sight after doing the Darth Vader NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Honorable mention for attachment to a character goes to Yumemi Hoshino from the "game" Planetarian. When she gets ripped in half by the military robot and her words to The Junker as she lay there dying was one of the most heart-wrenching things I've ever seen. I definitely felt for The Junker when he walked away in a daze not caring whether he lived or died after that.
