Have you ever had a good thread idea, posted it and thought "man this is gonna be awesome, we will get some good discussion going, there will be some funny replies and if nothing else, it will atleast be interesting" and then you don't even get 10 replies? This has happened to me a couple times, most recently on my last thread about TF2.

What posts have you done that just didn't quite get the comment number you expected?

It happened on my first ever topic.

I only got one response and that was it.

Best first impression ever. *being sarcastic*

Nope. My bad topics failed (one even got locked for pointlessness); my good topics succeeded (success = 50 replies). Simple as that.

Once made a generic 'How would you X...' topic which only got about twelve responses.

Which is shorter than the thread I never made that got me suspended.

I tried giving out free pokemon over Wifi and no one cared. Gave like one away.
I also talked about PvX Wiki and no one said anything constructive. This happens to me all the time. Try to stop using walls of text. I've found it works best to keep the OP short and sweet to keep the TL; DR-tards around to keep the thread going long enough to get the real posters in there.

ya I made a poll of "Who is your favorite organization XIII member?" to decide how popular my convention costume would be.
FYI I'm dressing as Demyx.

Actually about half the threads I make don't tend to go anywhere - usually because I'm looking to discuss something too specific to really get much momentum. That does make sense, I mean the narrower the topic the less likely someone will be familiar enough to respond (or even be interested).

All of my "Insanum Presents" series now come with whistling noises, so you can hear them bombing.

Does annoy me slightly.

Oh yeah, started a good topic in the bioware forums about the lack of detail on an untapped raced, the Vorcha, put a lot of detail into that first post.
and it fell completely under the torrent of character hate threads. gorram trolls.

Well, my fisrt topic did get a lot of replies, but most of them were not what the OP was about.

A lot of them. Like, A LOT. Ironically, my "Who was the last enemy you killed" thread got like 600 replies. C'mon people! I even had someone tell me that I should be proud and that he was humbled. Not exactly like that, but that was the message he brought across.
