I usually just stay away from posting threads... A lot of the time some one has mentioned it in the past, or it's usually just something that I know the Escapist won't want to discuss.

Both of my movie reviews were quickly drowned out. It is frustrating, I agree, when you put a lot of work into something, and it gets ignored for other topics.

But don't try to tempt fate. I got put on probation for bumping my own thread too much. Just let it lie and move on.

A thread about final fantasy versus XIII failed pretty hard. Only two responses. If we're accepting reviews too then my inFamous review failed pretty hard, no comments and 7 views, of which five were me.

I had two topics, one was about bad games to play while drunk and game inspired drinks, and one about game inspired food. They both appear to have just kinda...died. I am much happier with my "best track in gaming music" topic, over 100 replies! Yaa!
So apparently people on the escapist play games, but don't eat or drink o_O

I had one thread get to 11 pages: The Cake Is A _________
I remember that thread fondly.
Mainly as it was one of the first threads I posted in a few times.

OT: Nope.
None of my topics have ever been good. Seriously, looking back now, the most successful topic I had was a thing about post counts that got to 90 replies before it was sunk. And it wasn't a good topic to begin with. I did get a thread with 124 replies though. Shame it got locked and then deleted but that is life, I guess.

My thread with the most replies was about song lyrics. Wasn't even a particularly good thread, and afterwards I didn't even like my opening post. I kinda wished I got my first "hot topic" badge on something more worthy, especially as any other thread I had before it tanked hard. Oh well, such is life I guess.

That is because you are the derailer of threads, your gift is also your curse.

I have this happen to me too many times, it has really made me stop making threads. I always worry my threads aren't clever enough and i just don't bother with them anymore.

No really stellar thread, but yes most of my threads fail. Also what do you qualify as a failure. I'm usually happy if it goes to 40 responses.

Not really, I made one this morning that got 13 posts total and it's been dead since (3 were mine)...

EDIT:
And I may have a second one on my hands in one day...

My first topic, a poll on people's favorite party member in Dragon Age, got me two sweet badges and some good discussion going. My other three threads weren't as succesful, but the first two, dealing with the Wii, at least got people thinking and talking. My latest one bombed but I wasn't really expecting it to get anywhere.

I've only made one thread (except for the User Reviews section), and that got, like 3 pages at least.

I don't really make threads, you know?
