They shouldn't be allowed to get away with false advertising, although anyone who fell for those ads' should really blame themselves for it.

Those adds have always confused me. I mean I am all for boobies, but what does it have to do with the game? :/

To be honest, I thought Evony was a porn advertisement until about 2 months ago.

You know? I just realized that I have no idea what the game is about.
Same, What is it?

I have never seen any image of anything other than boobs...

Don't they get that boobs are pointless on the internet as a porn site is only a click away?
I have never understood that either.

Huh...ironically I have Evony pulled up in a separate tab right now...I will admit I have payed for the online coins but I haven't seen any of the fees pop up and what possible information is there to get? I don't keep anything at all on my computer as I am (slightly) paranoid about such things...and no I wasn't pulled in by the adverts, a few friends and my sister play it and recommended it to me.

Edit: Besides it is actually a lot better than some "free" browser games I have played...more interesting and it seems less "scamy." At least you can actually play the game without buying anything unlike "Empire Craft" in which to do well you HAVE to pay otherwise you are crippled.

My favourite Evony ad is the one with the two blondes, one with a pink bikini and one in blue with a crucifix. I mean, really, what the blue Hell does that have to do with a medieval based whateverthehellitisisitanRTSorwhat game like Evony. I think you'd probably get stoned in medieval times for looking like that.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it was shady, and I'm not surprised it's bad. I follow the rule of 'if they had to rely on sex to sell it then it's probably not that good'.

I played evony for about a year. the online community for it is pretty decent and I made some new friends from the alliances i joined. The adverts i'd seen but was actually persuaded to give it a go by someone i work with. Most of that article seem complete nonsense to me. The way they make money is by giving people the option to buy in game items. You can progress through the game without spending any money at all (I personally didn't spend anything but knew people in my alliance that did). So for me its a genius idea. Rip off someone elses game so it doesn't take much work to make. Then make it free and blanket advertise everywhere. Then make it an option for people to buy items to progress faster. The competitive people will buy the items and you make money.... I bet they are rolling in it.

Alright who actually clicked on one of those ads to play this game? Don't be ashamed, your punishment is well deserved.
I played a little before the ads.
The game isn't really P2P, it's more like freemium.
So yeah.
It sucks either way.

I am really quite unsurprised at this however.
