I used to play WOW a lot, but I quit. I didn't delete my characters or my accounts or anything, I just quit. How did I do it? WOW is BORING, how can anyone think of playing it again?

If you really must you can play WOW, just play on a schedule that let's you do other things.

I had 3 70s (paladin, rogue, mage) and two about to pop 70 (shamalamalama and huntard) when I finally decided that I really didn't want to play anymore. From time to time I also get the urge to restart, especially since several of my friends still play. But I found that all the top end raiding was getting more and more like a second full time job, except one I had to pay for.

I killed my urge by working out more than I used to, and getting back into peak physical conditioning.

plants vs. zombies, and left for dead. Some light-hearted multi-player action helped me once i stopped playing wow. :D

I figured out that it wasn't wow so much as the socialization that kept me hooked, and steam's network and facebook helped me a lot in getting rid of the need to play wow and the boredpm I felt.

Also I went retro gaming on my super. That helped tons.

I quit last January as well! Stay strong my brother! Don't give in to temptation!

There are a lot of really good games for 360 coming out this year. Prototype just came out this week, and Ghostbuster's is coming within the month I believe.

And next year looks even better, check out the E3 vids.

Another very good idea, download an emulator for your PC and play some sweet old SNES or N64 games, (I still have yet to beat chronotrigger, I'm so ashamed...)

Yeah you can undelete chars with a gm's help...but i still don't see why you would do it in the first place...especially if you just knew you could get it back from a gm in the first place...its like you didnt actually do anything to begin with :\

saying "doing something that i know is completely reversible and (apparently) hassle-free will stop me" is backwards.

granted all i did was uninstall wow but damn installing it and TBC and now Wrath with all the patches and stuff is admittedly also reversible...but a hell of a lot more of a hassle. (it just took me 5 hours to install and update...character restoration from a gm prolly takes an hour tops.)

At any rate i agree with the guy who said "if playing WoW makes you happy then there is no problem sinking your time into it"
just go the moderate route!

You already answered your own question. There was a really good reason you deleted you lvl 80 character. Starting the game all over again will get you hook for a certain time but after that you'll get the same empty feeling and you'll quit again. It's like seeing an ex girlfriend again after a long time and giving it another shot, only to realize that nothing really has changed and you'll brake up again for the exact same reasons.

I felt less nauseous. Seriously.

Well, you can realise that it's just grinding to grind grind and grind some more later on.

And get ganked, then mad, go grinding, take 10 e-friends and gank more people.

I wouldn't know, Sorry for the insightful comment
off topic a little though
I've been wondering: would it be worth it to start playing WoW?

If you want to keep yourself from playing again, just remind yourself of the mind-boggling amount of time and effort required to get a new character to 80, then think about the additional time and effort that entails getting all the top-notch gear. That should turn you off of WoW, sure as hell did for me. =P

I am completely serious, if you wanna get off wow or avoid it, play private servers.
