Nope. Forza Horizon 3 which is likely the best looking racer I?ve ever seen by a lot. I love the gameplay on it too. For a $60 single purchase, I play on my PC when my kids won?t let me near the TV. Same for Gears 4. Next game I will want unless it is a bomb is Crackdown 3.CritialGaming said:

Depends upon your needs. A good, not even great PC can provide you with some of the least expensive but great fun there is. But there are frustrations. I spent 10 minutes getting the video right on Doom just now. It was easily 5 minutes before I was actually in an online match. And I couldn?t hear or speak to anyone. Odd.
Doing some quick googling, I've found some people say they prefer the pro controller for the game, but it definitely seems like you have to keep the gamepad near for certain things. I was planning to try to find a Wii U with a cracked screen gamepad on eBay, maybe not now.Yoshi178 said:

however some shapes are much easier to just draw with your finger on the Gamepad such as a hammer. also the Wonder Whip and Wonder Claws are very similar shapes with Wonder claws being a Z zigzag type shape but the Wonder whip requiring an S figure type shape which is similar to a Z zigzig but not quite. so drawing on the Wii u Gamepad really helps to differentiate some shapes like that. especially in high pressure situations it just takes some of that fast paced battle pressure off the player.

Both systems have their merits but Nintendo can go fuck themselves with a rusty pole if they think I'm touching Mario...anything again.
Besides the Nintendo first party titles I have most of the top rated games and I REALLY enjoyed them all (well, except W101, but I never got into that properly and I need to go back to it sometime. Do feel like I've gotten 100 euros + 30 or so euros I paid for the 8 games I own for it? Absolutely. Well, except for ZombiU, but that was only 5 bucks so. Am I going to buy any more games? I'll probably buy Breath Of The Wild when (if ever) the price drops but I don't intend to buy any more games for it. I don't regret getting it at all. I definitely revisit most of the games again at some point
As for the PS4, I got it this time last year and handful of random games including Bloodborne and since about March last year it's been the Bloodborne Machine. Seriously, that game is probably my new favorite of all time but these last few months have been killer. Yakuza has been a favorite franchise of mine since I picked up the first one on a whim pre-owned in a 3-for-2 deal. Nioh is...alright. It's pretty samey and the equipment system is kind of a pain but struggling on a boss then beating it gives me the same feeling as Bloodborne did. I'm considering Horizon and still waiting on Nier to arrive, then there's Persona 5 in April.
The thing is, I own more games for the PS4 than the Wii U. The Wii U was saddled with too many multiplats whereas the PS4s library reminds me a lot of the PS1/2 days where the large library of games meant that there was stuff that appeals to EVERYONE even if they weren't all astounding masterpieces that altered the face of games deveopment. Half the games I own for it are nichey games no one talks because they were minor releases but I still enjoyed them regardless.
The Wii U doesn't really have that. You have your 10 or big releases then a bunch of lazy ports of AAA games. It's a shame it was never as loved by developers as the Wii. For video games, quantity absolutely wins over quality, because what people define as quality is subjective.
Also metarcritic is a cesspool and should never be used to prove a point about whether or not a game is good.

What?!?! PS2 was a glorified DVD?! Sure the DVD function helped Sony get more systems into more households, but that means nothing when looking at the game library. The PS2 is remembered fondly because of its game library, not that it played DVDs. If you were a gamer during the PS2 era, you literally needed a PS2 to play most games. The PS2 was just so dominant in sales and games that you were severely limiting your gaming if you didn't have one. Anti-consumer is a bit of a stretch, but more just a company profiting from its own hardware. You make a game console, then you decide to invest in games. Could Sony release Uncharted on Xbox? Yeah. Same with PC but then why bother to make a console and not just be a game publisher for PC? There is a market for consoles. Some people prefer that format even though it is now basically a crappy PC. Shopping for a console, interface, etc. is unique to the console vs. shopping for, interface, etc. for the PC. Some people prefer the console experience.babinro said:

If exclusives are anti-consumer, then a slippery slop starts where consoles are anti-consumer even though many people want consoles. Then platforms like Steam become anti-consumer because they dont include every game for those that want it. But then an argument out there is that Steam is anti consumer because what if you want the game but not Steam. Even Steam recognizes the market for consoles with the Steambox as stupid as an idea as that is.

Yoshi's right, there was a mad rush to get the PS2 as it was close to the same price as a DVD player but also this new powerful gaming system. In the end though, despite the memorable games, it was up there with the Wii in the amount of shovelware that was on it. I can't tell you how many times I've seen obscure games for PS2 (bonus points when someone had a bag full of PS2 games and I don't recognize a single one).Yoshi178 said:

About exclusivity: it's a good thing, IMO, for the hardware developers. It's the reason I really want a Switch for one game. I've followed Zelda since it released, played a few of the DS versions but left off with Ocarina of Time on N64, so perhaps it's time to look for a Gamecube/Wii and Wind Waker.

PS2 may have had shovelware in amounts equal to the Wii, but its % of good games to the amount of shovelware was not the same. Nor was the reason behind the shovelware. None of them were cheaply produced games chasing the sales of gimmicky controls. Many unknown games were gems on the PS2. They were mostly low budget games but some of them were fantastic. I looked for hidden gems in the Wii catalogue and found nothing but a neat archery mini-game out of my whole attempt.
It wasn't just Sony putting games on the PS2, lots of 3rd-party games were only on PS2 as well. Then, you had games like NFS:Hot Pursuit 2 that was better on PS2 by quite a decent margin, it was even better than the PC version. If you were a gamer, you had to have a PS2. Whereas, you didn't need a Wii for anything more than a rather small handful of games.Yoshi178 said:
