Wow, donated a bit myself (would've bought an Extra Credits T anyway) but it's really awesome to see them get double what they asked for in 24 hours, or however long it has been.

As James said, really is quite heartwarming.

They should have started a 'kickstarter'. What now will they do with 20,000 unneeded dollars?
I think someone stated earlier that they either intend to give the extra money to charity or buy back the equipment they need for the show that they hawked in anticipation of financial burden.

Kickstarter would have probably been a bad choice, only because it operates on pledges rather than immediate donations. Had the EC crew been unable to raise their goal ($15,000) in the allotted time (60 days), they would receive no money at all. This RocketHub service appears to give you whatever money you do make if you don't reach the goal, and any donation is better than none.

I hate EC a hell of a lot, and honestly consider it the worst thing on this site (yes, even worse than Jimquisition), but any person who is suffering should be helped, so while on a personal level I'd love the show to end, not like this, and so on a humanitarian level, I'm for helping them continue to make things I hate.
This is what makes us great here. Even people hate the show want to help it. If that ain't the truest definition of awesome community, I dunno what is.

Jesus H. Christ, $25,000? The Escapist has hella community support. And rich people. Good job, y'all!
Rich in character yes, yes they are. Money comes and goes it is replaceable, people are not.
At least until cloning is invented. But then, I don't really want a Rebel Flesh scenario.

Once I get to the store I'll buy a cash card for paypal and donate. I don't care if I don't get anything. Allison and James and Dan all need this. A bit of birthday money is well worth more episodes and more art from Allison.

Hey can you use Paypal to donate? I hate using my credit card for stuff like this.
Yes you can. This comes form the Extra Credits facebook page.

1. If you want to donate via PayPal, and you feel comfortable with it, [email protected] is Allison's Paypal. We should be able to get anyone who donates there their rewards.

Thx I don't own a credit card either - so I just donated via Pay Pal it is just very easy and fast. It's great how much people donated in just one day!

Well shit, I never knew. Shame on the escapist to be honest.

They have massive half page ads, two massive blue columns either side of the the screen and ads in loads of other places but I never knew about this? What gives?!?!

I assume by needing $15,000 and you now have about $30,000 you don't need my measly sum but I would have given.

Hope it all goes well.

I <3 EC!

I geuss she should be fine now if the surgery goes well.

Kinda depressing how much more like her wouldn't be able to get the surgery if they weren't as known as her.

Sorry for not being up to date and everything but didn't you americans get healthcare to a certain extent now ?

First of all to the people who are saying that they are wrong to ask for donations...

I'm going to bet on Child's Play for the charity this ends up going to which I am totally okay with.

The call only went out late last night. That's why they haven't pumped out more ads.

... Insane. We're now up to $47,837 - and the dough is still rolling in.
Nearly 50 grand... in a single day.

I'd like to go on record by saying I'm proud to be part of this community.

Fair enough.

I forgive thee escapist.

I actually forgot to add in how impressive the money given has been and at that rate, see what humanity can do when focused?

I assume this has turned from "get her better" to "raise money for (I assume) child's play". Which when considering the movies of the same name, is the creepiest name for a charity ever.

Fuck it, let's just do 50 grand.
Here here! Let's make sure they never have to dig into their own pockets to fund this show again! They give enough by just doing what awesome stuff they do :D
I am totally behind that. I wish I could donate again...
So, we're almost at $50,000 and there's still 59 days left in the drive, lol. What now? How bout we just set it at a solid mil? :3
