Misogynist is the word you're looking for
Oh, right. Care to explain how I hate women or think women are inferior, exactly? Hmm? Or did you just pull that out of nowhere? I would say the same fucking thing if a female reporter told a male cosplayer that he had a small dick or something. So what am I? A misogrist (misogynist-misandrist) now? What?

Radio DJs trying and failing to be funny.
I don't see why there's an immature call for physical violence though.
Do people suggest we start posting snipers at the exits to amateur comedy clubs? and headshot all the acts that fail?

Anger is a gift, use it.

Be creative and intelligent about it if you like, but acting quickly will fall under provocation and provocation IS a valid defence in a court of law... Just putting that out there. Hell, you can literally get away with murder if you have endured enough.
Is it really if you don't feel physically endangered?

Why exactly do you think a comedy club and going to random people who aren't part of a 'comedy' act are the same?
Comedy does not have to be isolated to specific geographical areas.
I suggest watching some television shows, such as "Just for Laughs" or "Trigger Happy TV." Mainly "Trigger Happy TV." Hell even "Brass Eye" and "Da Ali G Show" to a degree.
And you've probably see the Borat movie (if not his television stuff).

The only difference between those shows and this incident is that the guys involved in this incident simply aren't very good.

The (genuinely) unsuspecting bystander has become somewhat of a comedy stable over the past 3 or 4 decades or so. It's like a twist version of the straight-man.

And to think that physical violence would help with this issue shows a fundamental misunderstanding of how people and the world works.

Because what they are doing is harassing people. And unwanted harassment is a crime.
Harassment is behaviour that is intended to upset people and (here's the key part) that is repetitive.
From what I can tell these people did not go out of their way to pursue or persist in interviewing those who wished to leave. There is also no reason to believe these people were doing it purely for the joy/experience of upsetting people, most likely because they thought it would earn them more listeners/viewer if they made fun of some nerds on their sports show.
In a legal sense this was not harassment.

It has nothing to do with humor, and everything to do with some people being jackoffs.
Why not both? That is not an impossible intersection.

I'm not saying punch them, I'm saying you boot them out. People don't come to stuff like this for juvenile Howard Stern wannabes and their ambush interviews.
Exactly. You don't like what they're doing, make them leave, complain to their superiors (there is ample information in the source article for one to do so), just don't act like physical assault would be an appropriate response.

Master of the Skies said:
'Comedy' doesn't make them any less assholes for it, nor does 'comedy' excuse harassment.
Well I explain above how and unpleasant interaction with another human being doesn't constitute harassment. And I never said they weren't assholes.
Master of the Skies said:
You're also dodging that my criticism was towards your original comparison. Don't shift it and then pretend that my criticism was towards your NEW comparison.
You seem to be a little confused, here's how I saw the back and forth.

Me: Failing at comedy doesn't make one guilty of harassment.
You: But these people didn't know they were joking.
Me: Some of the most popular and least controversial comedy genre's of today hinge on participants not being aware that what's going on around them is a joke.
You: You're dodging the question.
Me: ?

If it were Sacha Baron Cohen who was going round comic-con doing comedy interviews, instead of Mike Babchik. It would be a joyous news article on this site, rather than a hate-filled forum post. Even if people were offended by things that he said. And bearing that in mind, does this guy really deserve such hatred and bile for fucking up at his job?
Look at the updates on the source article, this guys career will likely lie in tatters (according to some correspondence
they are considering ending the show involved and apparently a petition of 18 million signatures has been raised appealing for an official investigation into the incident) and his personal life will almost certainly suffer.
Considering we have no reason to believe he's a genuinely bad person, isn't that enough?
Should he really face harassment and threats of violence in return? Isn't that just a "two wrongs" deal?

But ignoring all that, all of that aside, threats of violence just make us look like petulant children that can't manage a measured response to something we find offensive.
Seriously dude, read the source article, that's how one should react to such an incident.

Well, extreme violence would mean broken limbs, concussion and something that would leave them disabled for live. Simply beating the shit out them and breaking their noses wouldn't constitute extreme violence, so there.
OH, that's right, violence isn't always extreme, for a moment there I thought I was out of options.

Assholes will be assholes I guess, asking security to do something would be the only other option and see if you cant get these pricks bounced.

Kind of sounds like the most level headed course of action would be to kick out of the convention and tell them to not come back. Really sounds like the best thing to do.

Que the "victim-blaming" accusations here, I don't care. This shit pisses me off. When women like this play the sexual harassment card. It does nothing but fucking demean the victims of actual fucking sexual harassment.

So you get pulled into a shitty interview by a couple of pricks who make juvenile jokes. Walk away, inform security, end of fucking story. Don't try to make this out as anything more serious than that. This reeks of people who had drunk sex and then cry rape the next day. It's disgusting to use something that genuinely affects other people in a horrible way to fuel your own (very minor in comparison) problems.

And yeah, I'm an asshole, victim blamer, etc etc etc.
You know I really don't get the concept of people being pricks, the people they were a prick too mentioning they were pricks, and then people getting mad at the people for informing people that the guys were pricks. I just don't get it. When reading the article it turns out that these people were doing the crap that they pulled on her multiple times with other people, guys certainly sound like creepers to me. She got the contact information about one of them and what did she do with it? Encourage people to report the guy to con security...I really don't see the problem here. It looks like this guy may be a paid journalist who is walking around repeatedly making creepy comments to people they are "interviewing" and I don't see the downside to these getting some publicity. Just jackass and unprofessional behavior.

Yeah, kick them out right away. Sexual harassment should not be tolerated.

Secondly, tell everyone you've kicked them out, and that sexual harassment will not be tolerated.

Okay, slow down here. Or not. What did they actually say? Because obviously, if they just took them to a back room and made sexist comments, then obviously, they're assholes, and should be flung into the damn sun, but at the moment, all I have is some angry people saying that they made sexist comments and no specifics named other than the threats of violence suggesting that it was really, really bad.

That all said, I do get a feeling if it was as bad as I'm getting the idea that it was, I'm gonna see it on "What the fuck is wrong with you" anyways.

Oh hey, a source.

*reads*

Wow.

Trolling or sexual desperation even beyond my lows? Who knows. One thing's for sure, I will definitely be seeing them mentioned on "What the fuck is wrong with you"

However, I do have to dock points for the use of text on a similiarly coloured background. Am I the only one who had to squint?

This is like that KSI controversy we had a few years ago with this video:

Questions like this are definitely a little offensive, but as long as the "interviewer" isn't harassing them, it's nothing to really get worked up about. Definitely not "ball-kick" worthy.

If we're gonna "rage" about this, where's the rage when Borat did his schtick?

Bloody hell what can of worms was opened here? Look OP, there will always be 2 kinds of people, so you'll never reach a mutually agreed upon answer.
I say they should be more mature and respectfully functioning members of society. As for corrective course action, it depends on their history. If they've done this crap in the past (or similar actions) and they have been talked to/offered help but got no where, THEN you resort to violence. There is no 2 ways around it people, if other means of help has been tried, you hurt 'em. Pain is the universal teacher, just look at human history.
Though, going down that road results in a lot of unnecessarily idiotic court dates and finger pointing at YOU being in the wrong. I swear this planet is slowly but surely losing it's grip on common sense.

Yeesh, I'm amazed that some people can reach their keyboards from all the way up on their high horses. Anyways, wasn't there a similar "issue" around this time last year? A youtube video or something?

A guy makes a joke about creampies (because women and he comes quickly, haha, xd, so funny) and people want to beat him up or kick him in the dick?

Get a grip. If you think that's a justified "punishment" for this crime that's hardly worth the name you've clearly lost your connection to reality.

Sorry to be so frank but theres no point in sugar coating it.
Assholes like him deserve a beating, there's no way to sugarcoat that. It's not as if you can expect it to learn, kick it out of the con and it'll just go somewhere else. Beat it, maybe it'll be afraid to try again, it's not as if you can teach it decency.
I dunno. Some of those guys tend to be pretty misanthropic. Give them another reason to hate humanity and they'll probably just get worse.
