Sorry, Ultracaps, they started as a joke but if i've been using them in the RP section i forget to stop. I've recently been hosting a halloween event, so i've been using them more than usual.

Amnestic: Commandants are resistant to all but high level spells.

True, nothing infuriates the beginner mage than the fancy-hatted asshat with the spike-spell and an unwillingness to ragdoll gleefully in the face of my vortex.

I fell in love with force push, however, and can never betray the Funky blue grooves of doom... even if they did fail to hurt the commandant ... epicly. Eh, i do have the gun.

On another note, does anyone else find the perpetual expression on the male characters face infuriating? I'm addicted to the assassins coat because it covers that god-awful smile-thing.

You mean the expression that makes him seem as if he's been lobotomised?

The constant dopey smile? I find it damn annoying when you first start out, but as your alignment changes to the extremes it seems to fit better. Either that or the smile changed too.

I've played through the game using only Will, and the only enemies that ever gave me real trouble were Spire guards in close quarters. Two level 5 shocks and a single pistol shot took down the Great Shard, so I'm not sure why anyone should have trouble using Will on it.

My setup was fairly similar to Joe's; Slow time, Raise Dead, Force Push/Vortex, Chaos/Blades, Shock. I alternated depending on what I was fighting - high level blades is pretty damn great against Commandants.

I realised yesterday that the only things I have missing for the Completionist achievement are gained through the Pub Games...no, Molynator, I'm not going to buy your arcade game, no matter how much time I wasted getting every skill, every other expression and pet trick.

Don't worry, my wife and daughter tend to call my Mage a monster and a Mass Murderer, it's just a shame there isn't a "Well you f**kin' MARRIED the mass murderer" expression...
or in light of the daughter "Well you're my SPAWN! HUR HUR!!" expression.

If you want to keep your family in definite place so they can't go walk about, just lock them in the Oakvale demon door's pocket dimension.
(Maybe that spoils the game but if it does than the reader is now thinking of pocket dimensions.)

I dunno. I still had a wife mysteriously vanish that way. She has a gift for me... somewhere.

Maybe this'll teach me not to trust pocket dimensions.

So far I have 18/50 gargoyles. So damn hard to find some of them. Why of why do the developers put them 'inside' houses.

Anyone know how you can open the 'back door' to properties you own? I own one of the houses in Old Bowerstown, and as I walk through to the back of the house...there appears to be an iron door that glows purple as I approach with a green 'A' to select...but nothing happens. I imagine there's a key or chest behind there in a backyard I can't get too

Also, anyone know what is needed to open up all the rampart walkways around Bowerstown? I found a staircase near the entrance to the right which allows you to walk the ramparts (and a few goodies), but clearly there are more iron gates impeding your way and it looks like they lead to other areas.

My brain and eyes are buggin out from the game. I'm taking my time (not critical path) and trying to get the most out of my initial experience.

In all honesty, games like Fable are fun to play through once for gamers like me, and maybe....just maybe....I may play again and go the evil path and play the female gender....but once I complete it a 1st time, my interest level in playing through again to get a few straggling achievements is greatly diminished.

Speaking of Gargolyes...how hard was it to get the one in the carriage house at Bowerstown entrance......***** to line up that shot.

The shards are kinda resistant to magic, but that wont really save them from an inferno fireball. Its the greater shard that are a worry, took me ages to kill with my inferno since my gun skills sucked.

And thanks for clearing up the archaeologist thing Amnestic.

Last question, does anyone know how to sell your house after your spouse dies? My house is still set as a marital home for my dead wife. She got killed as i was creating the "ultimate weapon" The reason for this was that my "bloodline wouldn't be allowed to flourish"
(im being vague to avoid spoilers, don't know how to do the tags.)

I don't know why you're all being so uppity about shards. There's like three in the whole game not counting the one that re-appears every time you visit Garth's tower. It's really not that big of a deal.

The house thing sounds like a glitch. Try exiting and going back to the area, or marry someone new and try to set that as the marital home, and then get a divorce or something if you don't like them. Or set the budget to 0 and replace all the furniture with crap and hope you get divorced by her ghost. That's what I'm trying to do. It's not working. Except

I chose the family option, so she should have come back to life, but she didn't. Which means I have a quest I can't complete because I'm supposed to "go back to my family" in Bowerstone Market, but there's no family to go back to. (Except my son, but that's apparently not good enough.)

So you have that problem too? I've been looking it up to see if it were a common bug, but this is the first time I've heard of anyone else having it.

I chose the family option at the end (mostly to bring back the dog, kind of reminded me of that scene from Shooter, "I don't think you understand. These boys killed my dog.") So I head back to bowerstone trying to complete the quest and the wife isn't there. Son's there, but no wife. I haven't saved it yet so I'm going to try a few things out (Home location? Maybe Bowerstone is bugged?) to see if it can be helped.

Has anyone else had problems with the "Rescue" quest? the one where you have to find your missing child? i can't get past the "Receive daughter's letter" part. it juts keeps telling me to go back to my husband (Character is a female gunslinger) and he has nothing useful to say.

Update: Crap. I decided to turn in an artifact scroll I had on me. The game decides to overwrite my file. Guess I won't be able to go back and retry the end-game. Guess I'll have to try another entire playthrough to see what was the deal with my invisible spouse.

The carriage moves every now and then. There's a chest in there too.

BTW! Don't do the gargoyle quest unless you're going for completion.... It's irony in there I tell you! Cruel cruel irony!

If you're talking about the Rotten Apple, you should have checked the wall behind the chest.

You can knock down the cracked part of the wall, thus revealing the real treasure - the legendary crossbow, which is VERY nice.

What are the relative merits of fire vs. lightning? Lightning seems to do more damage and have a better secondary effect. Fire seems to cost less XP to level, but that's about it.

Is fire's targeted attack multi-target or something?

To be quite honest, i'm just fed up with ALL of my characters having eyes that point in any seperate direction they can find, all of my characters wear eye-patches, because i can't stand to look at characters with one eye looking out constantly to one side.

And i don't think it's only the eyebrows that twitch, have a closer look it's the entire face moving about...
And it's not just on the female hero, i've seen it happen on NPCs too.

But all that pales in comparison to the seething hatred i have towards the way the heroes fucking stand up...
WHY ARE THEY LEANING FORWARDS ALL THE TIME?!
That to me doesn't look like it happened on purpose...

Okay, I think I solved the mystery of the "Invisible Wife" bug. After scouring the town for the lady I gave up and decided to bang one of my devoted groupie girls in my house, while my son watched. Muhahahaw. After I got up from the bed, OH SH-. Lo and behold the missus came home finally. She didn't seem to know what I had done, but she's back nevertheless. So my advice to all those with missing spouses, a little infidelity is all it takes... maybe.

I must say, Fable 2 is one of the buggiest mainstream games I have played in recent memory.

Has anyone figured out what "kinky" does? As far as I can tell it just means that the person doesn't play to their sexual orientation descriptor.

I also saw little pig icons over people's heads after I slept with a kinky lady, but I think that was just because I didn't sleep in my Animal Magnetism house.
